Sarah Stegall with her two border collies, Allie and Tessa, and Jennifer Kressin with her two golden retrievers, Dixie and Addison.

Jennifer Kressin, owner of Jenny’s House of Dogs in Antigo, qualified to attend the AKC (American Kennel Club) Rally National Dog Show in Ohio on June 29 with her two golden retrievers, Dixie and Addison.

Sarah Stegall, a groomer at Jenny’s House of Dogs, also made the qualifications to go to the Rally Nationals with her two border collies, Allie and Tessa.

Both Kressin and Stegall got their start showing dogs in 4-H.

Kressin started in Racine County 4-H when she was 10 years old, and continued showing even after her 4-H years in AKC. She went on to become a dog trainer and a groomer, and now owns her own business in Antigo. Kressin is also the superintendent of the Langlade County 4-H Dog Project.

Stegall started with 4-H when she was 5 years old, and also went on to show in AKC. She now works Doggie Daycare and grooms at Jenny’s House of Dogs.

Both ladies give thanks to 4-H for the experience in the dog project and agree that 4-H is a great way to learn and start showing dogs. They said to stick with it, because you never know how it will help you or where it might take you. “We started at our county fair and now we are heading to AKC Nationals.”
