Antigo Police & Langlade County Sheriff Reports for 7/9/18
ANTIGO POLICE REPORTS
Monday, June 25th
4:27 PM Officers responded to a 911 call reporting a two vehicle accident at E. 5th Avenue and Langlade Road. One vehicle was towed. There were no injuries.
6:55 PM Officers responded to an anonymous complaint of a silver vehicle with a bunch of people sitting in it, in front of a residence on 1st Avenue. The reporting person stated that the vehicle has come to the same spot often, and just sits there. The caller requested that officers come and check it out because it seemed suspicious. Officers found three male subjects and one female subject in the vehicle. One male subject was cited for underage tobacco, underage alcohol and obstruction. The subject was taken home and turned over to his mother.
8:08 PM Officers received a call from the male owner of an area business on Superior Street reporting that a past employee was harassing him. The caller gave officers the name of a possible male suspect. The caller told officers that he believed that the male subject was going into the building and messing with a computer. The male suspect still had a key. The owner told officers that they were in the process of getting the locks changed. He also stated that strange things had been happening in the building, like lights on in the morning when they knew that they had shut them off the night before. City units were advised.
Tuesday, June 26th
7:11 AM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting a burglary at his neighbor’s house on Elm Street. The caller said that his neighbor had no phone to call the report in. The male owner said that things were outside his garage that weren’t normally there. Sometime the night before, someone entered the male’s garage and pulled out an older push mower and a weed trimmer. There was no damage and nothing was missing. Officers found bike tracks in the back yard that exited out on N. Hogan Street.
Wednesday, June 27th
8:15 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 9th Avenue and Superior Street. The male driver was given a warning for failure to fasten his seatbelt. A male passenger gave officers a false name, but was identified. He was arrested on a probation warrant, obstructing, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
11:25 PM Officers responded to a call from a female on 2nd Avenue reporting that she witnessed a drug deal at Skateboard Park on 2nd Avenue. She told officers that two female subject and three male subjects exchanged items. There were several vehicles in the area including a silver Impala, a red car and a white car. The subjects fled on foot, prior to the officer’s arrival. One 19 year old male subject was found sweating and out of breath down the road. Nothing illegal was found on him. A 17 year old male subject who drove up to check things out while officers were there, was cited for operating with a suspended license.
Thursday, June 28th
10:39 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and Graham Avenue. The male driver was arrested on a Shawano County Sherriff’s Office warrant.
1:08 PM Officers responded to an anonymous report of a fight in front of a residence on Lincoln Street. There was a scuffle between two male subjects. One male subject was cited for disorderly conduct. Neither subject would tell officers the actual reason for the fight.
Friday, June 29th
1:45 AM While assisting county officers at the Langlade Hospital with a combative subject in custody, officers were advised by the staff that a patient was admitted who had been involved in a an altercation at a residence on Lincoln Street. Officers found out that a male subject had locked a second male subject outside, which upset the second male subject’s uncle. This third male subject was mad, intoxicated, yelled at the first male subject and then head-butted him, possibly breaking his nose. Officers were unable to locate the third male. He was referred for battery and felony bail jumping.
5:43 PM Officers responded to a report of a female subject attempting to start fights in front of residence at 10th Avenue and Dorr Street. The female subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and endangering safety with a dangerous weapon. A male subject was referred for possession of marijuana and prescription medication.
Saturday, June 30th
5:24 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that a female subject in a black Ford Fusion almost hit her when she was pulling in to the parking lot of an area business on S. Superior Street. Then inside the business, the female subject yelled at the caller, saying it was her fault that they almost had an accident. Store personnel told the caller that the female subject was in there all of the time, causing trouble. The female subject was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 5th offense.
Sunday, July 1st
1:08 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Clermont Street and 8th Avenue. The female driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 1st offense. She was also cited for failure to stop at a stop sign and open intoxicants. Two male passengers were cited for open intoxicants and one female passenger was cited for underage alcohol.
LANGLADE COUNTY SHERIFF REPORTS
Thursday, June 28th
11:37 AM Officers responded to a report of an intoxicated male subject at a residence on Forrest Avenue. The male subject was conscious, but incoherent. The 46 year old male subject was transported to Langlade Hospital. He had a very high blood alcohol content.
5:11 PM Officers responded to a request from the Shawano County Sheriff’s office for assistance at a personal injury accident at Hwy. 52 and Cty. Rd. HH in Shawano County.
8:30 PM Officers responded to a call from an area towing company reporting that they were at the scene of an accident on Hunting River Road between Elcho and Summit Lake with a vehicle in the ditch and on its side. The male driver told officers that he had swerved to miss a deer, lost control and ended up in the ditch.
Friday, June 29th
12:53 AM Officers responded to a disturbance outside an area business on S. Superior Street. Two male witnesses had observed a male subject chasing a female subject to the parking lot of an area business on S. Superior Street. They then observed the male subject put his foot on the female’s face/throat area. The witnesses then confronted the male. Everyone eventually ended up in the parking lot of another area business on S. Superior Street. The male subject then grabbed one of the witnesses by the throat, impeding his breathing. Upon officer’s arrival, the male subject fled and was hiding on the east side of a building. When found, the male subject charged at officers and he was tasered by officers three times. He was taken into custody and transferred to Langlade Hospital for medical clearance and probe removal. He was then turned over to Corrections for disorderly conduct, battery and resisting/obstructing. A probation hold was also placed. The female subject was uncooperative and didn’t want to identify the male subject or give officers a statement.
8:35 AM Officers responded to an anonymous report of a male subject passed out in an old red truck at the Neva Lake boat landing on Neva Lake Road. The windows were rolled up and the truck was not running. The male subject was sleeping when officers approached. The male was given a preliminary breath test which showed a BAC of .089. He consented to a search. Half a case of beer was found and dumped out. The male subject was cited for underage drinking.
2:41 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting a vehicle in the ditch on Hwy. 55, south of Cty. Rd. K. The caller believed that the driver was intoxicated or something. Officers also received a call from the male driver of the vehicle requesting a tow. The driver was not intoxicated. An axle on the right front of his vehicle had broken.
Saturday, June 30th
9:40 AM Officers responded to a report of a gas drive off at an area business on Hwy. 45 in Summit Lake, in the amount of $61. The caller gave officers the license plate number. The vehicle left the business traveling east on Forest Road. Officers made contact with the female driver. She told officers that she would go back to the business and pay.
3:00 PM Officers responded to a report of a trailer that tipped over as it was turning onto North Avenue from North Langlade Road.
5:14 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Flight Road and Langlade Road. A male subject was cited for operating left of center, allowing an 8 year old to drive, operating after suspension, and operating without insurance. He was also given written warnings for a cracked windshield and allowing a passenger to not wear a seatbelt.
Sunday, July 1st
1:02 AM Officers responded to a call from a passerby reporting a car on fire at Hwy. 64 and Cty. Rd. S. The caller stated that there was no one in the vehicle and people were standing around it. The male driver of the vehicle told officers that he was driving home to Bryant when he thought something was wrong with the radio in the car. The car then started on fire. The driver was given a ride home and the scene was cleaned up. The Highway Department was notified for possible road damage. The male driver was cited for operating after revocation – operating while intoxicated related and operating without a license, 2nd offense.
10:00 AM Officers cited a 91 year old female driver from Gleason for speed and she was given a warning for fleeing an officer. The female driver had continued westbound on Hwy. 64 for approximately 10 miles while officers were behind her with lights and sirens activated. Officers were ultimately able to get her to stop. The female told officers that she thought that they would just pass her and she didn’t need to pull over. Officers explained to her the legal requirements for stopping for emergency vehicles.
Monday, July 2nd
2:07 PM Officers responded to a call from an off-duty officer reporting a two vehicle accident at Hwy. 64 and Pioneer Road. Both vehicles were towed. The male driver of one of the vehicles was cited for failure to yield the right of way.
Tuesday, July 3rd
2:21 AM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that his son was in an accident on Cty. Rd. I east of Hwy. 45. He was not injured. The male told officers that he had been working late, fell asleep and rolled the vehicle around 2:03 AM.
