Charles David “C. David” Duchac, 94

Charles David Duchac age 94 passed away July 17, 2018 at his Care Partners Assisted Living Residence in Antigo, WI.

He was born on February 21, 1924 in Antigo, WI where he resided for many years. He met Joyce Charlotte Petters, in Antigo, WI following his return from WWII where he served as a Staff Sergeant, Army Air Force, United States Army as a tail gunner in high altitude heavy bombardment missions over Continental Europe ending in October 30, 1944. They were married in December 30, 1947 in Antigo WI. They resided in Oshkosh WI while he attended UW-Oshkosh and earned a degree in Mathematics. After the birth of their son, they moved back to Antigo and he joined his father, Al, in the Duchac Abstract Company as an associate in 1950. When Al Duchac passed away in 1968, David assumed full operations and ownership of the business, which was incorporated as Duchac Abstract Company at that time. Upon retiring from the abstract business of 36 years the business was merged with Langlade Abstract and Title Company in 1986.

He was a 1942 graduate of Antigo High School. He was an avid golfer and a member of Bass Lake Country Club and Riverview Country Club. After his retirement, he enjoyed traveling and spending winters with Joyce in Mesa, AZ and The Villages in Florida. They resided at The Villages in FLA briefly and then in Schofield, WI prior to their returning to Antigo in 2014. He was a member of the Kiwanis Service Organization in Antigo, WI and served as an officer for the Chicago Title Insurance Association.

David was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce. He is further preceded in death by his parents Alonzo (Al) Duchac and Ethlyn (Single) Duchac. His sisters Gretchen Duchac, Marjorie Johnson (H. Burton), Jane Vedder (Dr. Charles A.), brother Henry, son-in-law Michael Lutz and step-grandson Christopher Giese.

He is survived by four children, Lee Duchac(Bonnie) of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, Ann Decker of Jacksonville, FLA, Lynn Lutz of Rochester, MN, and Ted Duchac (Deb) of Schofield, WI. Grandchildren: Joel Lutz (Jenny) Rochester, MN, Sarah Dunn (Nathan) Rochester, MN, Bekah Lutz Rochester, MN, Bradley Duchac (Jessica) Edmond, OK, Tracy Slusser (Adam) Redwood City, CA, Jacquelyn Duchac, Verona, WI, Christopher Decker (Ashley) Holly Ridge, NC, Amy Davis (Andrew) Charlotte, NC., six great grandchildren two step-grandchildren and three step-great grandchildren.

David will be cremated and private burial will be held for both he and his wife of 70 years at a later date according to their wishes.
