For the Antigo Times

We would like to thank everyone for their support at Music In the Park and at Lakeside this past week.

The Center has had a very busy July, so we are going to take it a little easy in August.

•Mah-jong is being played on Mondays, Aug. 13 & 27, from 1-3 p.m. If you would like to learn to play this game, come out and take part.

•Tuesday & Thursday mornings, there is coffee and conversation from 9-11 a.m. Come out and bring a friend and join in.

•Bingo is on Wednesdays from 1-2:30 p.m. The crowd is getting bigger, so come and play and make some new friends.

•Cards are played on Thursdays from 1-4 p.m. Now they are playing Canasta and Pinochle. Some people have been asking about Sheepshead and Cribbage; if you would like to play these games, let us know and we can see if we can work something out.

•Exercise is in the mornings from 9-11 a.m.; Arthritis on Tuesday and Thursdays, and Strong Bones on Mondays and Wednesdays.

•On Fridays, Aug. 3, 10 & 17, the Stone Soup Bros. Band will be playing for your enjoyment from 2-4 p.m.

•There will be no Lunch Bunch this month, but it will return in September. If anyone has a suggestions for a place for lunch, please let us know.

•On Tuesday, Aug. 21, we will have a bus trip to Waupaca to tour the Chain of Lakes. The cost is $50 per person. The bus will leave the Refuge parking lot at 9 a.m., and return between 5-6 p.m. The boat trip starts at 12:30 p.m., so we will have lunch before the boat ride. After the ride, if time permits, a little shopping can be done in the stores nearby. Lunch will be on your own. The trip is limited to 20 people. For more information, call the Center at 715-627-6632.

•On Thursday, Aug. 30, the Alzheimer’s Support Group will meet from 1:30-3 p.m.
