Snowshoe Baseball Through August 27th (Every Mon.) 7:30pm Held at Snowshoe Park, Highway 47 & Choate Blvd., Lake Tomahawk. Snowshoe baseball is a game of softball played on snowshoes, using a 16 inch ball with no gloves. Concession stand opens at 5:30pm. Strong Bones is an ongoing strength training program designed to help adults become or stay fit, strong & healthy. Individuals will improve muscle strength, bone density, self-confidence, sleep and vitality. Mark Naniot from Wild Instincts Wildlife Rehab Center will be at ArtStart with 2 of his feathered friends—a red-tailed hawk & a barred owl—bringing to life ArtStart’s current exhibition “And By the Wind Grieved.” Artist Karen Bondarchuk’s work honors birds, many of whom have died because of interaction with humans. Mark’s presentation will help us learn how we can be better stewards in keeping birds safe and inform us about their rescue center. But there’s no rule against me stating the title of Beatrix Potter’s 1901 children’s book, The Tale of Peter Rabbit, or informing you of its protagonist, Peter Rabbit, a mischievous rabbit who likes stealing vegetables from gardens.
