The Antigo Middle School and the Boys & Girls Club are collaborating to better serve your child this school year. The AMS Afterschool Program will start October 1, 2018 and run Monday-Thursday. There will be a $15 registration fee. Scholarships are available; contact the AMS Office or the Boys & Girls Club for scholarship information.

This will include an annual Boys & Girls Club membership good through August 31, 2019. The daily schedule is: 3:15-3:30pm Snack, 3:30-4:30pm Homework Help provided by AMS Teachers, students have the option to walk to the Boys & Girls Club at 4:30pm for Enrichment Programs and Dinner. All students are eligible to be bussed home from the Boys & Girls Club at 5:30pm.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Langlade County offers award-winning out-of-school-time programs that foster self-confidence and positive relationships with others. Our outcome-driven Formula for Impact produces incredible results: Fun with a Purpose, Academic Success, Be Great, Do Good, and Healthy Choices!

Fun with a Purpose: At the Boys & Girls Clubs of Langlade County, our programs are enriching and educational, but we would not be the Boys & Girls Club of Langlade County if our kids weren’t having fun! By making our programs entertaining and interactive, we can impart valuable life skills while still having a good time.

Academic Success: These programs and classes establish productive study habits and approach learning in a fun, effective manner. Some of these programs include:

  • Power Hour – Homework assistance every day
  • Money Matters – Teaching financial literacy to teens
  • Be Great: Graduate – One-on-one mentoring that keeps kids on track to graduation
  • Book Club – Novels, biographies, vampires, oh my!
  • Career Launch – Taking initial steps toward a bright future

Be Great, Do Good: Be great, do good! Our Club members develop a positive self-identity and values that enable them to be responsible citizens. Under the enthusiastic guidance of our professional staff, our members are becoming the community leaders of the future.

  • Torch Club – Learning leadership through service for ages 11-13
  • Keystone Club – The ultimate leadership development program for teens
  • Youth of the Year – Honoring the hard work and achievements of our Clubs’ finest

Healthy Choices: Now it is more important than ever to make sure our children have the tools necessary to make their own healthy choices. These include programs like

  • NetSmartz – Teaching children how to safely and efficiently use the Internet
  • SMART Moves – Learn how to navigate potentially troublesome social situations
  • National Fitness Challenge – An incredibly popular exercise program
  • EatSmart
  • Bucketball League
  • Dodgeball League

Our Club is open Monday – Friday 2:30pm-6:30pm and open late until 8:30p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday Teen Nights starting October 2nd, 2018.  Club kids get healthy snacks and a hot dinner included in their program fees.  Our Club is constantly evolving to meet the needs of our members.

Transportation:

The Boys & Girls Club will be coordinating the afterschool transportation from the Club. Please try to plan one week in advance. It will be the parent’s responsibility to call the Boys & Girls Club by 12:00pm, if your child will or will not be riding the bus home on a day that they were or were not scheduled to ride. Disrespect to the bus driver and other students will not be tolerated on the bus. Please do not call your child’s school for any changes; call the Boys & Girls Club at our number of 715-627-1389 Ext. 2 before 12:00pm or e-mail us at [email protected]

Rates:

The program fee is only $15 for the entire year!  This is a special rate for 6th – 8th graders enrolled in the afterschool program.  Typically, the BGCLC Annual membership fee is $25. The fee allows youth to attend the Boys & Girls Club on dates outside of the afterschool program.
