Gerald “Jerry” Bera, 66

Gerald “Jerry” Bera, of Stevens Point, died Wednesday, September 26, 2018, at his home. He was 66 years old. He was born on October 18, 1951, in Antigo, a son of the late Leo Bera and Beverly (Zelinski) Bera who resides in Miami Florida. He married Ruth Bierman on March 27,1971, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Antigo. She survives.
Jerry was a welder/fabricator who worked for Lockwood Corporation, Gallenberg Equipment, operated a dairy farm, and was employed for Pettibuilt all in the Antigo area. He moved to Stevens Point in 1997 and began employment at Davco in Plover followed by Jarp in Wausau. He retired in 2000 due to a heart condition.
Jerry enjoyed carpentry, RC car racing with his son and grandson, snowmobiling, waterskiing, deer hunting and riding motorcycle.
Survivors including his wife and mother are a son, David (Rachael) Bera, Waupaca; a daughter, Shelly Bera (fiancee Chris Knight) Antigo; four grandchildren Jacob Bera, Courtney (Jake) Thiel, Melissa and Morgan Zeinert; one great-grandson Oliver Thiel; a sister, Jane (Douglas) Huckbody, Woodstock, IL; a brother, Tim (Brenda) Bera, Antigo.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 3, 2018, at 11 a.m., at Bradley Funeral Home with Rev. Wes Jedras officiating. Burial will take place in the Town of Norwood cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.
