Robins Celebrate Homecoming Win (with photo gallery)

The Robins celebrated “The happiest game on Earth” last week as they joined in homecoming festivities and took a win over the Wausau East Lumberjacks Friday night.
The week’s festivities revolved around “Disney,” with dress up days that included “Moana Monday” and Dynamic Duos like Minnie and Mickey.
Friday was Spirit Day, and the Field House at Antigo High School was filled with maroon in the afternoon as students participated in the homecoming assembly. The assembly started with a performance from the Antigo High School Marching Band and the drumline. The boys’ dance team organized for homecoming and put on a great show, followed by the staff performing their own dance routine.
The 2018 Antigo Homecoming Court was announced at the end of the afternoon assembly: 4th Attendants – Seb Noskowiak and Emily Brettingen; 3rd Attendants – Ben Stimac and Evelyn Olsen; 2nd Attendants – Korbin Krueger and Maya Gaedtke; 1st Attendants – Milo Wittman and Alayna Weix; King and Queen – Dan Ison and Amaya McCann.
At 4:00 pm, the class floats and many more parade participants made their way down Fifth Avenue to Schofield Stadium, getting the community pumped for the 7:00 pm game.
It was a cold night at Schofield Stadium, as the Robins took on the Lumberjacks. The Lumberjacks were the first on the scoreboard, with the only touchdown in the first quarter, but that wasn’t stopping the Robins. Korbin Krueger was the first to score for Antigo with 11:07 left in the second quarter.
Nevin Cornelius made the second touchdown of the night for the Robins, with 8:56 left in the second quarter. Cornelius made it in for another touchdown with 6:14 left in the second quarter, making the score 20-7.
After a scoreless third quarter, Antigo scored two more touchdowns in the fourth quarter. The Lumberjacks were able to get one more touchdown in with 1:26 left in the fourth quarter, but Antigo took the victory with a score of 33-13.
The Robins are now 3-4 for the season. They will play another home game Friday against Mosinee, who are 5-2 this season. The last scheduled game of the season will be played at Jay Stadium in Merrill on Friday, October 12.
