Lon “Lonnie” Wolff, 75
Lon ‘Lonnie’ Wolff, 75 of Wittenberg, died on Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Maple Lane Care Center, Shawano.
He was born on August 26, 1943 in Wausau, the son of the late Theodore and Florence (Carlson) Wolff.
On October 20, 1962, Lonnie was united in marriage to Jeannie Nievinski at St. Ladislaus Catholic Church, Bevent. She survives.
Truck driving was Lonnie’s life. He drove milk for his brother, Lee, at the age of 16 and was hooked. He drove semi with his buddy, Alex, for John Riley Trucking. Lonnie then drove dump truck in Milwaukee for 20 years for Kramp & Hyland Construction before working for Hanz in Wausau and Lisa’s Trucking in Antigo. Lonnie loved Polka music, especially Pat Zoromski. He also enjoyed John Wayne shows and western movies. He loved his dogs, Smokey, Louie, Charlie and Jackson.
Lonnie is survived by his wife, Jeannie Wolff of Wittenberg; three daughters Judi of Wittenberg, Juli on the road and Bonnie of Morgan Hill, CA; five grandchildren Angela Hart, Kerri (Chris) Marotta, Melanie Hart, Colyn (Tiffany) Hart and Mason Gill; a great-granddaughter Audrey Hart and another great-granddaughter due soon and a sister Lyn Wolff of Wittenberg.
Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents Theodore and Florence, his brother Lee and his wife Betty and a brother-in-law, Leonard ‘Peachy’ Nievinski.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at St. Ladislaus Catholic Church, Bevent. Fr. Augustine Bentil will officiate. Visitation will be on Saturday from 9AM until the time of Mass at the church.
