Antigo Police & Langlade County Sheriff Reports for 12/3/18
ANTIGO POLICE REPORTS
Monday, November 19th
4:58 PM Officers responded to a 911 call reporting a vehicle that went off the road near the dog park on Hwy. 64 and hit a tree.
10:38 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Mendlik Avenue. The 28 year old male driver was arrested on a Langlade County Sheriff’s Office warrant. He was transported to Corrections.
Tuesday, November 20th
11:11 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Washington Avenue. The 82 year old male driver had backed up traffic on Clermont Street because he had only been driving 11 MPH, then when he turned onto Superior Street he jumped the curb and pulled out in front of another vehicle. While officers were talking to the male subject, they saw that he had a traffic cone in his car. He told them that he was trying to return it to someone who had it out and it ended up in his wheel well. Officers found out where the traffic cone came from and talked to the worker who said that the male driver had almost smashed into the back of his work van and took out his cone. The male driver was written for re-exam.
Wednesday, November 21st
8:20 AM Officers responded to a call from a female on Dorr Street reporting that her tan Buick Lacrosse was struck sometime between 6:00 PM the night before and 7:45 AM that morning while in the parking lot of her apartment building.
8:45 AM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting her vehicle was struck by another vehicle in the parking lot of an area business on Hwy. 64.
1:37 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Hwy. 64 reporting that they had a male subject detained for shoplifting. The 62 year old male subject was cited for retail theft and released.
Thursday, November 22nd
7:45 AM Officers cited a 17 year old male student at Antigo High School with disorderly conduct for an incident on 11/16/18 when the student called 911 from a classroom phone because the teacher had told the student to go back to class. The call activated the district emergency alarm causing several staff members to stop class and go to that location.
7:49 AM Officers cited two 15 year old male students at Antigo High School with disorderly conduct for a physical altercation on 11/16/18.
7:53 AM Officers referred a 15 year old male student at Antigo High School with disorderly conduct for an incident on 11/20/18.
7:54 AM Officers cited a 16 year old female student with underage alcohol for an incident that occurred on 11/16/18. The female had gone home from school where she drank some wine. She then returned to school and boarded a bus to attend a function at DC Everest. Once there, the female student was found passed out in the bathroom, intoxicated. The female was very impaired. An ambulance was called and she was transported to the hospital. She was later taken home by a parent.
1:01 PM Officers responded to a report of a two vehicle accident in front of a residence on Clermont Street. One vehicle had backed out of a driveway into another vehicle.
3:42 PM Officers responded to a call from a 19 year old male subject reporting that he hit a pole in the parking lot of an area business on Neva Road.
11:59 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Edison Street and 6th Avenue. The 18 year old female driver was taken to a secure location for field sobriety testing. She was not intoxicated. She was cited for operating without a license, 2nd offense and possession of marijuana. Officers gave the female a ride to her residence.
Saturday, November 24th
12:00 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that a white, four door car with black tinted windows in the back was parked in front of a residence on 5th Avenue and people in the vehicle were shining red and green lasers in her eyes. Officers cited a male subject with disorderly conduct.
5:16 PM Officers responded to a 911 call from a 53 year old male reporting that he struck a pole in the parking lot of an area business on Neva Road. The vehicle was towed.
Sunday, November 25th
12:07 AM Officers responded to a 911 call from a female requesting that officers come to an area business on Edison Street because another female subject was attacking her. The attacking female was described as wearing black and having black hair. The 30 year old female subject was cited for disorderly conduct for attacking the other female. The victim told officers that she had a headache, but there were no visible injuries.
2:03 AM Officers responded to a call from an area business on 5th Avenue requesting officers for a group of 8 people fighting, mostly women. Officers spoke to one female subject who stated that she was there to give her sister and some friends a ride home when she was attacked by two female subjects and a male subject. She said that one female subject knocked a phone out of her hand and a male subject came at her, tried to hit her and threw a pitcher of beer at her. A second female subject punched her in the head and arm, so she then punched the second female subject back. Officers spoke with individuals at the scene, who all indicated that the first female that officers talked to was the instigator. Officers took statements at the scene and would be following up.
4:26 PM Officers investigated a tip that a male subject on probation was at an area business on Edison Street, drinking. Officers verified with the Department of Corrections that the male subject was on probation. The Department told officers that if the male subject was drinking, they could place a probation hold on him. Officers located the male subject at an area business on 5th Avenue. The 52 year old male subject was arrested on a probation hold and for possession of marijuana. He had a blood alcohol content of .035.
LANGLADE COUNTY SHERIFF REPORTS
Tuesday, November 20th
2:45 PM Officers responded to a 911 call from a subject reporting that they went into the ditch on Cty. Rd. AA, west of Junction Road. The driver was cited for seatbelt violations and having no insurance.
Wednesday, November 21st
9:59 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting an accident at Hwy. 55 and North Rolling Stone Road. The caller told officers that there were no injuries and there was no road blockage. Property damage only. The vehicle was towed. The female driver was cited for inattentive driving and failure to maintain control.
Thursday, November 22nd
6:00 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that she saw a car in the ditch at N. Langlade Road and North Avenue. The vehicle was towed. The female driver and her daughter were transported to Langlade Hospital by her husband to be checked over for any possible injuries.
6:24 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that he and another vehicle went in the ditch on Hwy. 45, on the south side of Antigo. The male driver was southbound on Hwy. 45 in the inside lane when his vehicle started to slide on the ice, causing him to swerve back and forth, cutting off the female driver in the second vehicle who was southbound on Hwy. 45 in the outside lane. The male driver went into the ditch and the female driver followed him, after swerving so she did not hit him. There were no injuries.
7:08 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting a vehicle in the ditch on Hwy. 45. The caller told officers that she did not believe that there were any injuries.
Friday, November 23rd
6:16 AM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that she went into the ditch on Trout Road, north of Hwy. 47. The vehicle was towed.
10:38 PM County units assisted with a house on fire on Red River Road. A male subject had called to report that his house was on fire. He told officers that no one was inside the home and about half of the house was on fire. The house was a total loss. The initial conclusion was that the fire started in an entry way between the house and the garage where a pellet stove was located. The fire department did not feel that the fire was suspicious. Photos were taken at the scene.
Sunday, November 25th
12:10 AM Officers responded to a 911 call from a residence on Century Street for a 31 year old male subject who was not conscious, had urinated on himself and seemed to gasping for air. The caller told officers that the subject had not been drinking and had no health conditions. CPR was given and a pulse was re-established. When officers arrived on the scene, the male subject was on the bedroom floor and appeared to be going through an overdose. Based on information officers received from a female subject at the scene, Narcan was administered to the male subject. Approximately 5 minutes later, the male subject regained consciousness. He was very disoriented, unable to care for himself and appeared to be in a possible state of delirium. The Antigo Fire Department transported the male to Langlade Hospital. He was later transported to Wausau for further medical testing.
9:35 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Hwy. 55 and Deer Park Lane. The female driver was cited for operating without a license and was given verbal warnings for having no insurance and for speed. A female passenger was arrested on a Shawano County Sheriff’s Office warrant and was transported without incident.
Tuesday, November 27th
2:49 PM Officers received a call from a female reporting that a blue or gray colored smart car that was traveling south on Cty. Rd. S, passing Cty. Rd. F, had swerved into her lane, forcing her to go into the ditch. The caller told officers that she then turned around and was trying to follow the vehicle to get their license plate number. Officers told the female caller to stop following the vehicle. Officers were advised.
11:27 PM Officers responded to a call from an employee at an area business on Hwy. 45 reporting that a male customer had just left in a vehicle and struck a power pole before leaving the parking lot. The caller told officers that the male subject was intoxicated. The vehicle was last seen on Cty. Rd. X. Officers stopped the vehicle at 9th Avenue and Deleglise Street. Officers found damage on the vehicle consistent with striking a pole. The vehicle had turned around sharply in the parking lot while leaving and possibly drove over one of the two guide wires for the power pole. WPS was notified of the pole damage. The male subject was cited for hit and run of property adjacent to the highway.
