Smart Watches and 911:

Gift giving season is among us and on many wish lists you can be sure to find the most recent gadgets for the tech savvy, like a smart watch. For those that do not have a smart watch or for those planning on purchasing one, keep in mind the devices compatibility with the 911 system. Most smart watches released today always have some sort of emergency dialing system whether it be dialing 911 or sending out messages. Certain iWatches made by Apple have the capability for the user to hold down a side button and call 911 automatically and give the dispatch center an approximate location of where the emergency is located using GPS. Samsung has a feature on their version of the smart watch that when a certain side button is pushed the watch will send out a text message to your selected contacts informing them of a problem. Other smart watches will also provide audio to the dispatch center of the surrounding conversation or emergency in the event that the wearer cannot talk due to the situation. Prior to purchasing the technology, don’t only read the reviews, keep us in mind and look into the emergency functions of the watch so we can get to you faster and more efficiently when an emergency may materialize.
