Dona Mae Brunnecker, 75

Dona M. Brunnecker, 75, Mattoon, died on Monday, December 3, 2018 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
She was born on July 18, 1943 in Mattoon, the daughter of the late Kenneth and Frieda (Scholz) Parmer.
On November 10, 1962, Dona was united in marriage to Vilas Brunnecker in Mattoon. He survives.
Dona was employed at Wisconsin Veneer and Plywood for many years until her retirement. Dona enjoyed traveling, visiting and cooking and was a Green Bay Packer and Milwaukee Brewers fan. Dona especially enjoyed spending time with her family and attending her grandkid’s school activities.
Survivors include her husband, Vilas; two daughters, Lottie (Terry) Bucholtz of Bowler and Sandy (Steven) Abler of Oshkosh; seven grandchildren, Nicole (Alex) Hable, Jared Hable, Manda Bucholtz, Sawn (Kayla) Bucholtz, Robert (Julia) Abler, Stephen Abler and Cody (Stacia) Abler; eight great-grandchildren, Jace, Silas, Lillian, Carter, Chloe, Callie, Parker and Brend and three brothers, Lee (Irma) Parmer of Mattoon, Howard (Valerie) Parmer of Birnamwood and Dave (Sherrie) Parmer of OK.
The funeral service will be held at 11AM on Friday, December 7, 2018 at Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home, Birnamwood. Rev. Myron “Myke” Christensen will officiate. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, town of Hutchins. Visitation will be on Friday from 9AM until the time of service at the funeral home.

Dona’s family would especially like to thank her niece Tina who donated a kidney to give Dona several more years of life.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the Alzheimer and Dementia Alliance of Wisconsin.
