Shirley McDougal, 84

Shirley McDougal, of Antigo, died Sunday, December 16, 2018, at Aspirus Langlade Hospital under the care of LeRoyer Hospice. She was 84 years old. She was born on August 13, 1934, in Deerbrook, a daughter of Jerry and Frances (Mika) Petrzelka. She married Hubert McDougal on April 24, 1954, at St. Matthews Lutheran Church, Deerbrook. He preceded her in death on December 8, 1991.
She attended Deerbrook Grade School, graduated from Antigo high school with the class of 1952 and graduated from Langlade County Teachers College in 1954.
Her working career started at the Dime store in Antigo where she was employed for 10 years, then she was employed as a secretary at Duchac Abstract and Title company, and finally working in registration at Langlade Memorial Hospital for many years.
She served as treasurer for the town of Peck in the 1990’s.
Shirley was a bible study leader for the disabled at Peace Lutheran Church and was a hospice volunteer.
She was a member of the Hyland Lakes Lioness Club, Peace Lutheran Church, their Dorcas Society and Altar Guild.
Survivors include a daughter, Cynthia (Roy) Powell, Antigo; a son, Jerry (Maydene) McDougal, Deerbrook; a son-in-law, Keith (Jo) Romenesko, Antigo; a sister, Carol (Gene) Wagner, Green Bay; a brother, Jerry (Judy) Petrzelka, Green Bay; a sister-in-law, Judy Petrzelka, South Milwaukee; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her daughter, Debra Romenesko, three sisters, June (Rudy) Pecanic, Geraldine (Eugene) Simon, and Gladys in infancy; a brother, Frank Petrzelka.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 20, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Bradley Funeral Home with Rev. David Karolus officiating. Burial will take place in Neva Bohemian National Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.
