Antigo Police and Langlade County Sheriff Reports for 1/14/19

ANTIGO POLICE REPORTS
Wednesday, January 2nd
8:58 AM Officers responded to a call from an area business on S. Superior Street reporting a customer who wrote out two checks with no funds available in their account. One check was for $405.95 and the other was for $29.58. The checks belonged to a female subject from Weston. The caller told officers that they had the female subject who wrote the checks on video. The female subject was identified as the female listed on the checks. A copy of the checks was given to the District Attorney’s office.
3:55 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that he was just involved in an accident with another vehicle at Clermont Street and Mendlik Ave. There were no injuries. The caller then told officers that the State Patrol was at the scene and he hung up.
Thursday, January 3rd
1:21 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on 5th Avenue reporting a two vehicle accident that occurred in front of the business. Property damage only.
Friday, January 4th
12:19 PM A male subject came to the Safety Building to report that he had his medication stolen from the lobby of an apartment building on 6th Avenue. The male stated that he was staying with a friend at the residence and left his belongings in the lobby as he spoke with another friend upstairs. When he returned to the lobby, he noticed that his bag had been entered and his medication was missing. This occurred on 1/1/19. Six different medications were taken. The information was forwarded to the male subject’s pharmacy.
Saturday, January 5th
6:55 PM Officers responded to an anonymous complaint of smelling marijuana in the basement of an apartment building on 6th Avenue. Officers made contact with several subjects throughout the building. They determined that the strongest odor was coming from one area on the main floor. A male subject who answered the door of a residence in this area admitted to smoking marijuana earlier and handed over the drug paraphernalia in his possession. The 21 year old was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.
LANGLADE COUNTY SHERIFF REPORTS
Wednesday, January 2nd
10:29 AM Officers received a call from a 56 year old male reporting that someone opened a PayPal account in his name. He told officers that he called PayPal and they locked the account and advised him to notify authorities. Officers advised the male subject to also notify his financial institutions in reference to identity theft. They also gave him the identitytheft.gov website address.
Friday, January 4th
9:14 PM Officers were at accident with the State Patrol at Hwy. 55 and W. Rolling Stone Lake Road. The vehicle in the ditch was removed by a tow truck.
Saturday, January 5th
12:33 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that he hit a wolf on Hwy. 64, east of Townline Road. He told officers that he believed the wolf was deceased, but he didn’t want to get any closer to it. The animal was lying in the middle of the road. Officers took the wolf carcass to the DNR building.
8:21 PM Officers responded to a 911 call for a vehicle in the ditch at Cty. Rd. M and Hwy. 55. The caller stated that the driver was lying on the ground next to the vehicle, conscious. The 72 year old male driver was arrested for intoxicated driving. His preliminary breath test results were .265. The vehicle was towed.
Sunday, January 6th
9:39 AM While on patrol, officers observed a Saturn Vue SUV westbound on Mendlik Avenue with red and blue emergency lights activated appearing to attempt to initiate a traffic stop on a vehicle it was following. Officers then conducted a traffic stop. The male driver of the SUV admitted to officers that he did not have a driver’s license and advised officers that he was on bond with conditions not to drive. He was impersonating an officer. His light bar was turned over to officers and he was arrested on 3 counts of misdemeanor bail jumping and operating after revocation – operating while intoxicated related. He was transported to Corrections.
1:58 PM Officers responded to a call from a 23 year old male reporting that he went into the ditch on Cty. Rd. Q. The vehicle was towed out.
Monday, January 7th
1:52 AM Officers responded to a 911 call from a 72 year old female reporting that she went into the ditch on Cty. Rd. A, south of Cty. Rd. S. There were no injuries and no damage to the vehicle. The vehicle was towed out.
9:10 AM Officers responded to a call from the Highway Department reporting that one of their plow trucks was involved in an accident with another vehicle at Hwy. 55 and School Road.
11:52 AM Officers responded to a report of a one vehicle rollover on Cty. Rd. B, just west of Hwy. 52. The Chevy Equinox was on its side in the ditch. The vehicle was towed out.
9:50 PM Officers responded to a 911 call from a male reporting that he jackknifed his semi on Hwy. 52, south of Kettlebowl. Hwy. 52 was ice covered and the semi was not able to make it up the hill. The semi was towed.
10:19 PM Officers were at the scene of a pickup truck in the ditch on Hwy. 52, near Kettlebowl. The driver of the pickup slid into the ditch as he came to assist on the earlier accident at that location. There was no damage and the male driver was able to get the truck out of the ditch.
Tuesday, January 8th
4:54 AM Officers responded to a 911 call from a 58 year old female reporting that she was in the ditch on Hwy. 64, east of Cty. Rd. P. There were no injuries, but she was shaken up. The vehicle was towed out.
