“The Art of the Quilter V – Stiches in Time” January 19th-February 3rd (Saturdays & Sundays only) 11am-3pm WOWSPACE, 114 Vinal Street, Wittenberg. “The Art of the Quilter V – Stiches in Time” Sponsored by Applewood Lane Alpacas and CWECoop. This is a non-juried, non-judged show. A 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place People’s Choice will be awarded. New this year, an Award of Excellence will be awarded to one quilter as determined by a committee of award winning quilters. The 2019 show will also include a featured quilt which was shown at the Chicago World’s Fair, a guest speaker/trunk show – Lois Wilhelm on January 20th @ 1pm at the Community Center, weekly demonstrations of quilt techniques and/or projects on Saturdays at 1pm, and a selection of gently used quilting books and back issue quilters’ magazines available for a free will offering. Please join us in once again making this one of the best attended shows at WOW.
Open Skate January 21st 11:30am-1pm Langlade County Hockey Arena, 1633 Neva Road, Antigo. The Antigo Area Youth Hockey Association, in collaboration with the City of Antigo Park & Rec Department, offer FREE open skates throughout the year at the Langlade County Multi-Purpose Building. The Open Skates are FREE with the donation of a canned good. There is a limited supply of skates available for use (these are free, but must be returned at the end of the skate). Thank you to the Antigo Optimists for donating money for the purchase of more skates to be used by those in the community. There is no skate sharpening at the rink during open skate times. Registration is not required to attend Open Skates.

Strong Bones with Kathy January 22nd & January 24th (Every Tues. & Thur.) 9-10am Langlade County Senior Center, 1225 Langlade Rd., Antigo. Strong Bones is an ongoing strength training program designed to help adults become or stay fit, strong & healthy. Individuals will improve muscle strength, bone density, self-confidence, sleep and vitality. Also, participants have shown a decreased risk of diabetes, heart disease, arthritis, depression & obesity. Classes are offered for an hour, twice a week. Crockpot Class- Quick and Healthy Crock Pot Meals for the Family on the Go January 22nd 6-8pm Northcentral Technical College, 312 Forrest Ave., Antigo. This class will explore making meals in a crock pot using healthy ingredients and preparing your entire meal in 30 minutes or less. Fun, healthy and creative meal ideas will be explored and created. Immunization Clinic January 23rd 9am-4pm Langlade County Health Department, 1225 Langlade Road, Antigo. The immunization clinic is available to provide childhood immunizations & adult vaccinations. The vaccinations are FREE to children 2 months – 18 years of age if you have Medical Assistance or no insurance. Adult vaccinations are available some with a minimal fee or FREE if you have MC or MA. Preschool Story Time January 23rd 10:30-11:30am Antigo Public Library, 617 Clermont St., Antigo. Join us for story time at the Antigo Public Library! This is a great way for kids who haven’t started school yet to meet & socialize with peers. Every week we’ll read 2 or 3 books together as well as doing some songs & movement. We also do a simple craft or coloring page that helps kids develop creativity & motor skills, & occasionally (attendance permitting) other activities such as parachute play. This event is geared towards preschoolers, but older or younger kids are welcome to attend as well.

Play & Learn January 24th 9:30-11am N4013 Hwy. 45, Antigo. Play & Learn is a weekly play group program for parents, caregivers & children from birth to age 5. Staff will provide a parent lesson, an activity for parents & children to do together. The activity will build skills for school readiness & milestone achievement. Quarterly Ages & Stages questionnaires are made available to parents & caregivers to assist families in helping their children to reach age based development milestones. 59th Annual Gresham Lion’s Winter Carnival and Fishing Derby January 26th 10am-10pm Upper Red Lake Road, Upper Red Lake Rd., Gresham. There will also be giant snow kites on the ice, food, music, beverages, and DJ from 6-10pm.
Elcho X-C Club Annual Ski Junket January 26th 11am-2pm Moccasin Ski Trail, Moccasin Lake Road, Elcho. It’s Elcho X-C Club Annual Ski Junket at the Moccasin Lake cross country ski trail head. Bonfire, free hot chocolate and hot dogs, chili and cookies. Bring some snacks and visit fellow outdoor enthusiasts. Try out equipment provided by Mel’s Sporting Goods of Rhinelander, ski and snowshoe, and relax in the new Michelle’s Lodge. We welcome the Antigo Bike & Ski Club and the public is welcome to join us.

Langlade County Community Ceramics, a non-profit painting group that meets every Monday and Friday from 9am-Noon at Sts. Mary & Hyacinth, Classroom 8, 819 3rd Ave., Antigo. Class cost is $3.00, to cover paint and anyone is welcome. We also take art-related field trips four times a year.
Antigo MOPS (Mothers Of Preschoolers), a chapter of an international group that offers encouragement and support to moms of kids ages 0-5. We have relevant and interesting speakers, fun crafts, yummy food and free childcare while we meet.
