FOR ANTIGO TIMES

The Langlade Area Arts (L.A. Arts) invites the public to attend their annual “Snow Ball”. A glamourous evening experience set in a shimmering winter wonderland, to be held on Saturday, February 9th at the Timber Haven in Polar WI, beginning at 7:00PM, and featuring one of the most popular, hottest and sought after band in WI “Hip Pocket”.

The Timber Haven will be transformed by Jeremy C. Doucette, New York City based, Jeremy is RWS Entertainment Group’s Vice President of Design & Experiences.  He is a native of Antigo and has designed award winning sets, lighting and costumes for over 750 productions worldwide, including plays, musicals, dance concerts, art installations, themed environments, and awards shows. Jeremy plans to bring to Antigo a treasure trove of scenic materials that he has collected over the years and from the many corners of the earth in his professional travels.  Those attending will be mesmerized and delighted to experience the magic of theatrical design that will draw them into a magical winter wonderland as the banquet hall at The Timber Haven will be transformed into an exceptionally classy and glamorous ballroom and entertainment center.

L.A. Arts chose an equally high quality dance band, “Hip Pocket”, to provide the music for the evening. “Hip Pocket” is a powerful, high energy band, with a four piece blazing horn section and a rocking rhythm section led by local percussionist, Mike Fittante along with exceptional lead, vocals by his brother Joe Fittante, on the keyboard and  blending the other vocalists with close tight four part harmonies.  Hip Pocket rocks your favorite top 40, R&B, Latin-fusion, jazz, pop, modern, and classic rock hits. This sensational band will be sure to have everyone out on the dance floor.

During the evening, guests will be treated to a variety of sweet desserts, such as decadent, gourmet cupcakes and savory hors d’ourvres, along with a cash bar featuring signature cocktails. There will be a Silent Auction, including two framed autographed pictures; one of Milwaukee Brewer’s outfielder, Christian Yelich, the 2018 National League, MVP and the other of the Milwaukee Buck’s star center Giannis. There will also be delightfully themed gift baskets, along with various art works provided by AVA (Antigo Visual Arts) and other local artists just to name a few. The evening will also entail other surprises throughout the night of great music and dance.

LA Arts is a non-profit organization formed in 2009 to develop an Arts Center for the Antigo and Langlade County artists. The vision is to create a Cultural Center for the Langlade community to enjoy and celebrate the “Lively” Arts.  This Arts Center would unite the various local and established organizations of visual artists, musicians, theater, and dance by providing a performance area along with a Gallery to offer the myriad of art works along with also providing classroom space for workshops to allow the continued growth of the Arts in our community.

Whether you are a couple looking for a glamorous evening out, or a single person looking for that someone special; L.A. Arts will provide you with a most unusual and memorable evening. Advance Tickets are $40.00 available at the Antigo Daily Journal and Neve’s Floors to Go, Furniture & Mattress Gallery and Lakeside Market, The Timber Haven and will also be available at the door.
