For Antigo Times

Even more impressive than the final score was the fact that Antigo collected another 7 victories via pin fall, continuing a very positive trend for the year.

The dual meet started at 126 pounds, with Sophomore Logan Edwards controlling the entire match by not giving up a single point before pinning his opponent deep in the second round.

In what was the most exciting match of the evening, Antigo’s Jaden Schoeneck showed off his toughness and grit, fighting off of his back on three separate occasions before securing a victory via pin fall in the second period.

Ben Stimac continued the pin streak for Antigo, using an early takedown and finishing with a first round pin to put Antigo up 18-0.

Dylan Warax lost a tough decision bout that put Lakeland on the board, but Josh Heuss regained the momentum with a pin in the first minute of his match to put Antigo up 24-3.

Royce Bauer dominated the first period with a takedown and near fall before reversing and pinning his opponent in the second period.

Collinn Eldridge put on a takedown clinic before disposing of his opponent via fall in the second period to bump Antigo’s lead to 36-9.

Nick Roller capitalized on an early takedown to win via fall in the very first minute, and Talik Bussey received a forfeit at heavyweight to put Antigo up 48-15.

After dropping a major decision at 106, Antigo’s Conner Dettman won via decision in an exciting 13-7 match, and then Jordan Dykstra received a forfeit to finalize the score at 57-19.

Upcoming for Antigo is a dual meet at home with Marshfield on Tuesday, January 8th and a dual meet at home with Medford on Thursday January 10th. Then Antigo will travel to Stratford for a multi-dual, where they will match up with Division 1 State Runner-up Holmen, Division 2 State Champions Luxemburg Casco, and Division 3 State Champions Stratford in what will be an exciting evening of high level wrestling.
