The Antigo Penguins Ended Their 2018-2019 Swim Season at the Central Wisconsin Swim Conference

The meet was held in Minocqua at the Lakeland Union High School this past weekend. 31 Antigo Penguins qualified and competed along with 472 swimmers from Central Wisconsin. The Penguins took 10th place out of 16 teams. The age 10 & under competed on Saturday, February 2nd. Participating swimmers included Sawyer Behm, Rutger Busse, Alexis Federman, Autumn Federman, Allyssa Howard, Evie Lucht, Nolan Lucht, Holland Tainter, Layla Tainter, Greyson Reetz, Midori Santiago, Nate Wild, Hannah Zanayed and Josh Zanayed. The 11 and older competed on Sunday, February 3rd. Participating swimmers included Tristin Arlen, Kiana Arpke, Dawson Behm, Maggie Baginski, Myah Bolder, Mya Burt, Karl Busse, Avery Federman, Brion Koszarek, Gordon Lucht, Meredith Meidl, Molly Neufeld, Morgan Rank, Zander Reetz, Ezra Santiago, Chloe Tainter and Makayla Tischendorf. The top 8 in each individual event and the top 6 relays received medals.

Sawyer Behm is a first year swimmer and broke the 8 & under Antigo Swim Club record in the 50Y Breaststroke with a time of 59.16.

Mya Burt broke her own 11-12 year old Antigo Swim Club record in the 100Y IM with a time of 1:09.83.

Mya Burt swam 11-12 year old state qualifying times in the 100Y IM, 50Y Freestyle and 100Y Freestyle. Holland Tainter swam 9 year old state times in the 50Y Freestyle, 100Y Breaststroke and 50Y Breaststroke.

Boys 12 & Under 200Y Medley Relay- Brion Koszarek, Gordon Lucht, Ezra Santiago and Dawson Behm 3:02.11- 3rd place

Girls 10 & Under 200Y Freestyle Relay- Alexis Federman, Evie Lucht, Holland Tainter and Midori Santiago 2:43.72- 5th place

Boys 8 & Under 100Y Freestyle Relay- Sawyer Behm, Greyson Reetz, Nate Wild and Josh Zanayed 1:39.77- 3rd place

Throughout their 2018-2019 season, the Penguin swimmers received great instruction and support from coaches Janelle Bolder, Carolyn Kelk, Betsy Neufeld, Mary Stensberg, Michelle Arlen, Alyssa Tincher, Ben Tincher, Austin Arlen, Heather Arlen, Sarah Meidl, Vince Federman and Andrew Tainter.
