Wittenberg-Birnamwood School District 4 Year Old Kindergarten Registration March 11th & 12th 3/11 3:30-5:30pm Wittenberg Elementary School, cafeteria, 300 Prouty St, Wittenberg. 3/12 3:30-5pm Birnamwood Elementary School, 4k classroom, 337 Main St., Birnamwood. Register for the 2019-2020 school year. If you have a child who will be 4 years old by September 1, 2019 you are welcome to come anytime during the scheduled hours. Please bring along proof of birth date (birth certificate, baptismal record or passport, only to be verified, we do not need a copy) and an immunization record. Stocks: The Nuts And Bolts – Financial Planning Series March 11th 6-8pm Northcentral Technical College, 312 Forrest Ave., Antigo. The class teaches basic information to help investors evaluate if stocks fit into their overall strategy. Strong Bones with Kathy March 12th & March 14th (Every Tues. & Thur.) 9-10am Langlade County Senior Center, 1225 Langlade Rd., Antigo. Strong Bones is an ongoing strength training program designed to help adults become or stay fit, strong & healthy. Individuals will improve muscle strength, bone density, self-confidence, sleep and vitality. Also, participants have shown a decreased risk of diabetes, heart disease, arthritis, depression & obesity. Classes are offered for an hour, twice a week. Job Center of Wisconsin will be holding a weekly Job Center on Tuesdays at the Antigo Public Library. Come seek assistance with resumes, job searching, interviewing, and unemployment. The Emmet Project March 12th 6-8pm UW Extension Office/Resource Center 4-H Office, 837 Clermont St., Antigo. The Emmet Project is coming to Langlade County. The Emmet team will lead us through a variety of hands on activities which explore STEM+C (Science Technology Engineering Mathematics + Computational Thinking) activities. Each month they will bring new projects in technology, engineering & more. All youth, 3rd grade & older are invited to attend. It is open to all youth of Langlade County. Preschool Story Time March 13th 10:30-11:30am Antigo Public Library, 617 Clermont St., Antigo. Join us for story time at the Antigo Public Library! This is a great way for kids who haven’t started school yet to meet & socialize with peers. Every week we’ll read 2 or 3 books together as well as doing some songs & movement. We also do a simple craft or coloring page that helps kids develop creativity & motor skills, & occasionally (attendance permitting) other activities such as parachute play. This event is geared towards preschoolers, but older or younger kids are welcome to attend as well.

Play & Learn March 14th 9:30-11am N4013 Hwy. 45, Antigo. Play & Learn is a weekly play group program for parents, caregivers & children from birth to age 5. Staff will provide a parent lesson, an activity for parents & children to do together. The activity will build skills for school readiness & milestone achievement. Quarterly Ages & Stages questionnaires are made available to parents & caregivers to assist families in helping their children to reach age based development milestones. 28th Annual Pickerel-Pearson St. Patrick’s Day Parade March 16th 11am Country Inn, N9195 Hwy. 55, Pickerel. The amazing holiday parade, full of St. Patrick’s Day floats, will start at noon on March 16, 2019. The parade will run from the Tombstone Pickerel Sno-Club Clubhouse on Country Road DD to Saint Mary’s Church on Highway 55. Country Inn will be serving green beer, brats & burgers, along with beef & cabbage starting at 11 am. All proceeds from the outside food tent goes to the Pickerel Rescue Squad. Langlade County Community Ceramics, a non-profit painting group that meets every Monday and Friday from 9am-Noon at Sts. Mary & Hyacinth, Classroom 8, 819 3rd Ave., Antigo. Class cost is $3.00, to cover paint and anyone is welcome. We also take art-related field trips four times a year.
Antigo MOPS (Mothers Of Preschoolers), a chapter of an international group that offers encouragement and support to moms of kids ages 0-5. We have relevant and interesting speakers, fun crafts, yummy food and free childcare while we meet.
