Antigo Wrestling Club Held Awards Banquet

On Sunday April 7th the Antigo Wrestling Club held their annual awards banquet.

Eighth graders Robby Hagerty and Alexandra Hofrichter kicked things off presenting Coach Matt Lehrer with an engraved hammer thanking him for building their wrestling foundations.

Next Coaches Lehrer, Joe Pregler and Dameon Becerra presented 10 Coaches Awards to wrestlers that are showing good progress but just outside receiving one of the special award.  Recipients were Devin Breitenfeldt, Braddock Spencer, Jaxson Pregler,  Jaxon Hilton-Flannery,  Samson Smith,  Levi Peterson, Levi Theilenhouse, Jordy Pregler, Colton Livermore and Hunter Gibney.

Individual Awards Were:

 

Heart of A Champion- Alexandra Hofrichter

Mr. Physical –  Michael Hofrichter

Leadership- Robby Hagerty

Mr. Determination- Kruze Krueger

Rookie of the Year-  Alden Jaje

Most Improved-  Logan DesJarlais

Mr. Hustle-  Scotty Hagerty

Sportsmanship- Danny Livermore

MVP- Elia Peterson

 

Most Wins Awards were given to the top three winning percentages out of wrestlers who wrestled a minimum of 10 matches.

 

  The Recipients Were: 

 

1st-  Elia Peterson who went 16-0 for a perfect 1.000 winning percentage

2nd – Michael Hagety 12-4 for a .750 winning percentage

3rd- Scotty Hagerty 19-7 for a .730 winning percentage

 

Most Pins awards were given to the top three wrestlers with the highest amount of pins on the season.

 

The Winners Were:

 

1st- Keaghan DesJarlais 14 pins

2nd- Logan DesJarlais 12 pins

3rd- Scotty Hagerty 11 pins

 

State Qualifier trophies were presented to the six youth who qualified for the State Championships.

 

The Winners Were:

 

Alexandra Hofrichter 2004-2005 152 lbs

Michael Hagerty 2006-2007 140 lbs

Devin Breitenfeldt 2006-2007 125lbs

Johnny Wissbroecker 2006-2007 64 lbs

Jordy Pregler  2008-2009 135 lbs

Lexi DesJarlais 2008-2009 120 lbs

 

The Coaches and parents are looking forward to seeing what the future brings these young grapplers and their teammates in the coming years.
