Strong Bones with Kathy April 16th & April 18th (Every Tues. & Thur.) 9-10am Langlade County Senior Center, 1225 Langlade Rd., Antigo. Strong Bones is an ongoing strength training program designed to help adults become or stay fit, strong & healthy. Individuals will improve muscle strength, bone density, self-confidence, sleep and vitality. Also, participants have shown a decreased risk of diabetes, heart disease, arthritis, depression & obesity. Classes are offered for an hour, twice a week. 2019 Heart Healthy Grocery Store Tours April 16th 6-7:30pm Pick N’ Save, 406 Hwy. 64, Antigo. Join us for a guided grocery store tour. Learn important shopping and nutrition information that will help you lead a healthier lifestyle. The presenter will be Carolyn Kelk, a registered dietitian with Aspirus Langlade Hospital. Preschool Story Time April 17th 10:30-11:30am Antigo Public Library, 617 Clermont St., Antigo. Join us for story time at the Antigo Public Library! This is a great way for kids who haven’t started school yet to meet & socialize with peers. Every week we’ll read 2 or 3 books together as well as doing some songs & movement. We also do a simple craft or coloring page that helps kids develop creativity & motor skills, & occasionally (attendance permitting) other activities such as parachute play. This event is geared towards preschoolers, but older or younger kids are welcome to attend as well.

Local Musician: Dan Robinson April 17th 6-7pm Birnamwood Branch Library, 337 Main Street, Birnamwood. Local musician Dan Robinson is touring the badger state with history and tunes. Robinson hosts the weekly show, “Simply Folk”, on Sundays on Wisconsin Public Radio. The concert is free to attend and sponsored by the Friends of Shawano County Libraries, Inc. Talent Attraction and Retention Tools for Businesses Workshop April 18th 8-9:30am Northcentral Technical College, 312 Forrest Ave., Antigo. The Business Education Series is a dynamic four-part skill development series designed to address specific fundamentals of business while exposing participants to new information and techniques to help them grow professionally and improve overall operations and business efficiencies. Each hour and a half business education program is designed to deliver valuable information, tools, and strategies to allow participants to implement new skills and strategies immediately. Play & Learn April 18th 9:30-11am N4013 Hwy. 45, Antigo. Play & Learn is a weekly play group program for parents, caregivers & children from birth to age 5. Staff will provide a parent lesson, an activity for parents & children to do together. The activity will build skills for school readiness & milestone achievement. Quarterly Ages & Stages questionnaires are made available to parents & caregivers to assist families in helping their children to reach age based development milestones. Learn to Hunt for Food Program April 18th 6pm Department of Natural Resources, 223 E. Steinfest Ave., Antigo. This program offers novice adults an opportunity to learn about the benefits of eating upland wild game, recipes for wild game and how to effectively harvest wild game. This will be accomplished in an adult learning environment with open discussions, hands-on learning opportunities and dynamic demonstrations. Portions of the class will include opportunities to sample locally raised and harvested wild game. There will be several opportunities for participants to handle a shotgun & to develop their skills in shooting. In May, students will get the opportunity to participate in a pheasant hunt with the assistance of mentors and finally students will be paired up with a mentor for a ruffed grouse hunt in September. City of Antigo Annual Outdoor Easter Egg Hunt April 20th 10am City Park East & West, 200 block of Aurora Street, Antigo. This event is for children from new crawlers to age 8. The cost is free with a donation of a canned good. There will be over 4,000 pre-stuffed eggs! City Park East & West are divided into different age divisions (crawlers & new walkers, 3-5, and 6-8). If you would like your picture with the bunny please arrive by 9:15 am. We will provide the bunny, but parents please bring your own camera for pictures. Registration is not required for this event. Relay for Life Langlade County Kick-Off Event-Chili Cook-Off & Dessert Bake-Off April 20th 4:30pm North Star Lanes, 400 Prosser Place, Antigo. Do you make a mean pot of chili or an amazing dessert? Enter the chili cook-off or dessert bake-off. Entry fee is $20 per item. Prizes for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place. Come & learn about the Relay for Life! This is a free event supporting the American Cancer Society Relay for Life for Langlade County. There will be free chili & dessert sampling, paddle wheel, drinks & additional food available for purchase and other entertainment. Winners of the contests will be announced at 7pm. Langlade County Community Ceramics, a non-profit painting group that meets every Monday and Friday from 9am-Noon at Sts. Mary & Hyacinth, Classroom 8, 819 3rd Ave., Antigo. Class cost is $3.00, to cover paint and anyone is welcome. We also take art-related field trips four times a year.
Antigo MOPS (Mothers Of Preschoolers), a chapter of an international group that offers encouragement and support to moms of kids ages 0-5. We have relevant and interesting speakers, fun crafts, yummy food and free childcare while we meet.
