Darrel Leon Schreiber, 78
Darrel Leon Schreiber, of Gleason, died Tuesday, April 16, 2019, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. He was 78 years old. He was born on January 20, 1941, in Gresham, a son of the late Leon and Lucille (Bernarde) Schreiber. He married Carol Anker on March 18, 1961, at the Lyndhurst branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the town of Herman, Shawano County.
Darrel’s greatest love was family and church. As a life member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, he held many callings serving his fellow men, he had a strong testimony and faith in his Heavenly Father and his Son Jesus Christ being his Savior and living the gospel with his loving wife of 58 years, Carol and their children were sealed as an eternal family in the Washington DC Temple on April 16, 1980.
He graduated from Shawano High School in 1959. He worked at Ford Stamping Plant in Janesville, was an architect, union carpenter, and worked in Real Estate. In 1963 he started dairy farming. He was a cattle hauler for Equity and NFO and a grain farmer. He also did auto body truck and tractor work, was a logger, and sold Christmas trees.
He was a pilot who owned his own plane, he also enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Survivors include his wife, Carol; six children, Jeff (Holly) Siegle of Oak Creek, Ronda (Steve) Wild of Cleo, AL, Alan Schreiber of Deerbrook, Ronald (Jennifer) Schreiber of Gleason, Annette Stone of Rice Lake and Mark (Jessica) Schreiber of Phlox; 19 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Norwell (Darlene) Schreiber of Antigo and Dale (Barb) Schreiber of Deerbrook.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2019, at 11 a.m. at the Bradley Funeral Home with President Justin Gregersen officiating. Burial will take place in the Town of Summit Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
