Sperry O. Winn, 92

Sperry O. Winn, age 92, of Elcho, died Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at Tomahawk Health Services in Tomahawk.
Sperry was born on July 10, 1926 in Oshkosh to the late Sperry E. and Hearta M. (Ginnow) Winn.
On June 16, 1951, he was united in marriage to Annabelle Kollmann in Fond du Lac. She survives.
Sperry served in the United States Army during World War II, serving in Italy.
He was a police officer for the City of Fond du Lac, worked for Kiekhaefer Mercury, and also had worked for Tecumseh Motors as an applications engineer and expert witness. Upon retirement, Sperry continued to work for J. W. Mattek & Sons, Inc.
Sperry and Annabelle enjoyed weekends and time spent at the home that they built on Neva Lake. They later moved to Elcho.
He was a member of Arbutus Lutheran Church, where he served as their treasurer and enjoyed helping with church dinners, especially the potato preparations.
Sperry’s greatest love was that for his wife and family. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, trap shooting and making firewood. He also liked to play cribbage and was a talented wood craftsman.
Sperry was a member of the Elcho American Legion Noetzelman- Boudry Post 377.
Survivors in addition to his wife, Annabelle , include 3 daughters; Susan “Suz” Winn of Pickerel, Sandi (James) Ramaker of Virginia, Patti (Greg) Karras of Janesville, 8 grandchildren; Ashley Winn Behm (Adam Behm), Erin (Chad) Klish, Jordana (Keith) Zdanawicz, Shannon (Mitch) McCoin, Mitchell (Michelle) Ramaker, Nathan (Erin) Karras, Joshua (Heather) Karras, Jacob (Amy) Karras and 17 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Sperry was preceded in death by a son-in-law Butch Jorgensen and a sister Charlene Parman.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 3:00 PM at Arbutus Lutheran Church. Deacon Pam Werth will officiate. Visitation will be Saturday at the church from 1:30 until the service.
Military honors will follow the services at the church.
