Warrant of the Week:

The Antigo Police Department holds a Department of Corrections warrant for Larry M. Urick d.o.b. 10-26-88. Those with information on his whereabouts are urged to call the Antigo Police Department at (715) 627-6411 or Langlade County Crimestoppers at 715-627-NAIL (6245).  Callers may remain anonymous.

Cellphone use while Driving:

Wisconsin law allows drivers to use a cellphone while operating a vehicle on most occasions, however; the law is also very specific and makes the operation illegal in some situations. Cellphone use is allowed while driving when on roadways that are not designated as hands free zones i.e. work zones and cities that have hands free ordinances. Cellphone use is strictly prohibited if the driver has a probationary license or instruction permit whether the use is hands free (wireless) or not. The law does permit probationary and instruction permit drivers to only use a cellphone when reporting an emergency.  As always, texting while operating is always illegal for any and all drivers unless they are operating an emergency vehicle. The entire law can be found in Wisconsin State statute 346.89.
