AT&T Donation Will Support LCEDC’s Training Programs for Entrepreneurs

ANTIGO, Monday, May 20, 2019 – Langlade County Economic Development Corporation (LCEDC) received a $5,000 AT&T contribution today to support their training programs for entrepreneurs during the LCEDC Annual Meeting & Luncheon at the Northcentral Technical College – Antigo campus.

The AT&T contribution will help support LCEDC programs aimed at supporting and growing entrepreneurship in rural Langlade County, including small business development training classes and continued education programs for entrepreneurs.

“Our goal is to help entrepreneurs and small business owners in rural Langlade County gain the knowledge, expertise and skills they need to start their own businesses and be successful,” said Angie Close, LCEDC Executive Director. “We are grateful for the contribution from AT&T to support our training and continued education programs.”

The $5,000 AT&T contribution will support the Entrepreneurial Training Program, the Business Education Series and the Peer Mentoring Groups for Entrepreneurs.

  • The Entrepreneurial Training Program’s “9 Week Business Plan Series” provides instruction, guest speakers and counseling to help those who are considering starting a business, owners of existing business, and those with successful companies they want to grow.
  • The Business Education Series provides courses for entrepreneurs to learn what financing is available, how to attract top talent, and how to effectively use social media marketing for small businesses.
  • The Peer Mentoring Groups for Entrepreneurs provide strategic discussions to help entrepreneurs succeed in today’s economy and business climate.

“We are very proud to support the Langlade County Economic Development Corporation and their efforts to provide critical training and resources to Langlade County entrepreneurs and small businesses,” said Scott T. VanderSanden, president of AT&T Wisconsin.  “AT&T is committed to helping advance entrepreneurship and economic development.”

The mission of Langlade County Economic Development Corporation is to take a structured, proactive approach toward enhancing the viability of existing businesses and the recruitment of new enterprises to Langlade County.  The overriding goal of LCEDC is to increase opportunities for Langlade County citizens to secure quality employment in Langlade County, as well as increasing the county’s tax base.

“The Langlade County Economic Development Corporation is doing important work to connect entrepreneurs with the resources they need to start successful businesses,” said State Representative Mary Felzkowski. “These programs are a great way to help promote entrepreneurship and the growth of small businesses in Antigo and throughout Langlade County.”

As a company, AT&T is committed to providing funding to local organizations that enhance and give back to their communities.
