Arnold Carlson, 86
Arnold Carlson, died on June 7, 2019 at Rosalia Gardens under the care of LeRoyer Hospice. He was born on October 24, 1932, in Palisade, Minn a son of the late Lloyd and Rose (Erlandson) Carlson. He married Beverly Pasell on April 23, 1955. She preceded him in death on March 16, 2009.
He married Jane Eggleston on May, 22, 2010.
He graduated from Aitkin High School.
Mr. Carlson served in the United States Army, from February 13, 1953 to February 11, 1955, having been stationed in Germany.
He was an engineer for Allis Chalmers in West Allis. Following his retirement he hauled cattle.
He was a member of the American Legion.
Arnold enjoyed NASCAR, tractor pulls, fishing, carpentry, helping with the horses and playing Scrabble.
Survivors include his wife Jane; a daughter, Cheryl Ostrom of Manitowoc; a son, Michael (Julie) Carlson of Milwaukee; three grandchildren, Richard (Jennifer) Brusky, Timothy (significant other Katie Lousier) Robertson and Sam (significant other Sherrie Palmer) Luckow; four great-grandchildren, London Robertson, Skyler Brusky, McKinley Brusky and Vance Luckow; step-children, Sharlyn (Terry) Pence of Bradley, Ill., Mark (Sharon) Knowles of Saloom, Ariz., Tim (Catherine) Knowles of Mattoon and Lori (Jeff) Nichols of Cato; Jane’s step-children, Dan (Melissa) Eggleston of Minot, N.D., Ken (Cindy) Eggleston of Burlington, N.D. and Penny (Jay) Hartman of Green Bay; three brothers, Robert (Karen) Carlson of Bemidji, Minn, Wallace Carlson of Sartell, Minn, Charles Carlson of Palisade, Minn; three sisters, Irene Bartz of Grand Rapids, Minn, Iris Weston of Aitkin, Minn and Darlene Homoki of Grand Rapids, Mich.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Carlson.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 22 at the Bradley Funeral Home at 11 a.m. with Rev. Brad Anderson officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday, June 22 at the funeral home from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
A memorial service and burial will take place in Aitkins, Minn. at a later date.
