Daniel “Bunyan” Tatro, 77
Daniel “Bunyan” Tatro, of Phlox, died Wednesday, June 19, 2019, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital under the care of Hospice. He was 77 years old. He was born on October 25, 1941, in Phlox, a son of Lyle and Clara (Bissonette) Tatro. He married Gwen Brandt on May 5, 1967, in Shawano. She survives.
Bunyan worked as a logger and truck driver for his brother LeRoy Tatro. In 1974 he began a 30 year career with Schneider Transportation driving regularly to the east coast. He retired in 2004 as a member of their One Million Mile Club.
He was a member of Teamsters Local 662.
He enjoyed playing cards, cribbage, horseshoes, shooting pool and the shake of the day at the Old Mill.
Survivors including his wife are three daughters, Jody (Daniel) Lenzner, Aniwa, Janell Tatro (Lynn Lemiesz), Ripon, Julayne (Mark) Stadler, Birnamwood; two sons, Jay (Lynn) Arrowood, Antigo, Jamie Arrowood, Phlox; thirteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grand children;
three sisters, Elaine (James) Sieckert, Phlox, Betty Polansky, Menomonee Falls, Yvonne Peifer, Pewaukee; four brothers, Kenneth Tatro, Phlox, Roger Tatro, Elton, Conrad (Christine) Tatro, Phlox, Gary (Joan) Tatro, Phlox;
He was preceded in death by a daughter Jonnie in infancy; a daughter-in-law Mary Arrowood; his parents, three sisters, Jean Meyers, Irma Blahnik, Lee Ann Wieber, four brothers, Eugene, LeRoy, Earl, Richard Tatro.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, June 24, 2019, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Holy Family Catholic Church in Phlox with Rev. Edmundo Siguenza officiating. Burial will take place in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday at the Bradley Funeral Home and 10 a.m. until the time of services on Monday at the church. A parish wake service led by Deacon Tom Hartman will be held at 2:45 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
