Antigo 10u Stallions went 1-3 to take third in first tournament

Playing in their first tournament of the season the 10u Stallions went 1-3 to take third place on a tiebreaker.
Game one the Stallions fell 11-4 to the powerhouse Notre Dame Future Tritons.  Hayden Thill led the way at the plate with a double and single. Caleb Vandenlangenberg, Gauge Guenthner and Scotty Hagerty each added a base hit. Thill, Hagerty and Vandenlangenberg each drove in one run. The Stallions lit up the base paths with 5 stolen bases. Two from Hagerty and one each from Cayden Carley, Vandenlangenberg and Thill. Combining to strikeout 6 in the loss were Thill, Guenthner and Jordy Pregler.

The Stallions bats came alive in the team’s 13-3 victory over the Rhinelander Hodags. Guenthner had a double and single with 2 RBIs. Pregler collected a pair of singles. Providing a 2 RBI double was Hagerty. Which was followed by Vandenlangenberg’s 2 RBI single. Alden Jaje and Thill added a RBI single. Zander Zwirschitz drove a base hit of his own. Once again heads up baserunning resulted in 4 stolen bases one each from Pregler, Carley, Vandenlangenberg and  Carson Rhode.  Rhode and Vandenlangenberg combined for 3 strikeouts on the mound. Turning a passed ball into out with a great play at the plate was the combination of Hagerty- Vandenlangenberg.

An early morning start on Sunday saw the Stallions come out flat in a 9-4 loss to DC Everest.  At the plate Jaje drove in 2 runs with a double.  Base hits were added by Hagerty and Carley. While Rhode drove in 2 run with a sacrifice fly.  Vandenlangenberg had the lone stolen base.  Vandelangenberg and Guenther struck out 4 in the loss. The defensive highlight of the game came from Hagerty playing catcher being able to catch 4 runners trying to advance on the base paths.

The teams final game of the weekend saw the Stallions fall 9-3 to Clintonville.  Delivering a RBI triple was Hagerty.  Followed by a Vandenlangenberg RBI single.  Jack Sundermeyer drove in a run with a double. Carley and Pregler each singled. Striking out 3 in the loss was Hagerty, Guenthner and Carley.  Defensively a pair outfield assists from Carley in left throwing out runners at third was a highlight.
