Herbert Kircher, Jr., 72

Herbert Kircher Jr., of Antigo, died Saturday, June 1, 2019, at Rosalia Gardens under the care of LeRoyer Hospice. He was 72 years old. He was born on October 3, 1946, in Berwyn, IL a son of the late Herbert and Verna (Kegley) Kircher.

He was a graduate of St. Joseph High School in Westchester, IL and continued his education at DeVry Institute of Technology.

Mr. Kircher was a Vietnam veteran, who proudly served in the United States Army from March 14, 1968 to March 1, 1974, having been stationed in Korea.

Herbert was an electrical engineer in the Chicago area having worked for Motorola and retiring from Appleton Electronics.

He enjoyed shooting guns and relaxing at Black Oak Lake. He enjoyed watching his nieces and nephews at their sporting, music and dance events.

Survivors include a sister, Joann Bretl of Antigo; six nephews, Joe (Vicky) Bretl Jr., Orland Park, Ill, Paul Bretl, Steamboat Springs, Colo, Christopher (Sheryl) Bretl, Madison, Eric Bretl, Prior Lake, Minn, Neil A. Bretl, Sr., Antigo, H. Nicholas (Robyn) Bretl, Wausau; two nieces, Lisa (James Jr.) Shafel, Antigo and Patricia (Dean) Bushey, Stevens Point;

great-nieces and nephews, Shannon (Bill) Healy, Stacy MN, Missy (Steve) Roehrig, Antigo, Emily (AJ) Jansen, Antigo, Kristine Bretl, Chicago, Kari Bretl, Colo, Ben Bretl, Colo, Mae (Eric) Fruhling, Madison, Shelly Bretl, La Crosse, Peyton Bretl, Prior Lake, Parker Bretl, Prior Lake, Rayna Bushey, Stevens Point, Jake Bushey, Stevens Point, Neil Bretl Jr., Antigo, Samuel Bretl, Antigo;

great, great-nieces and nephews, Grace, Addie and Jack Healy, Ella, Noah and Max Roehrig, Nora and Corbin Jansen.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brother-in-law, Joe Bretl, Sr.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, June 7 at 11 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church with Rev. Charles Hoffmann officiating. Burial will take place in Queen of Peace Cemetery with Antigo veterans providing military honors. Visitation will be Friday at the church in Hoffmann Hall from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass.
