FOR ANTIGO TIMES

On Thursday, June 6, the third annual MC Classic Rock Fest kicked off at the MC Festival Grounds in Deerbrook.

Featuring seven bands, performers and various festivities throughout the weekend, MC Classic Rock Fest offered something for everyone.

The festivities kicked off Thursday evening with a pre-party, followed by Merrill-based rock band; The Dukes, taking the stage from 7-11 p.m.

Friday featured a full-slate of music beginning with Brian “BMac” McLaughin at 2 p.m., followed by Rising Phoenix and Neenah, Wis.-based Boom Boxx to close out the night.

Saturday’s festivities opened with Bingo at 10 a.m. followed by a bean bag tournament at noon. The tunes resumed at 4:30 Saturday afternoon, with Rhinelander-based Almost Relevant.

Making the trip from Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN for the final performance Saturday night, was America’s Tribute Band; the Arch Allies.

“They are a nationally known tribute band, and man what an amazing show!” comments MC Festivals co-founder Molly Held.

“Their performance was the best of the weekend and the largest audience too!”

Founded in 2016 by Molly and husband Chris-owners of Held’s Bar- MC Festivals hosts two events every summer; MC Classic Rock Fest and MC Country Fest (slated for Thursday Aug.8-Saturday, Aug.10, 2019.)

In addition, on Saturday Aug. 3, Molly and Chris will host the “Deerbrook Rumble”; a motorcycle ride in support of the Never Forgotten Honor Flight, which travels from Held’s Bar, to the MC Festival Grounds.

This year, the event will be open to ATV’s and UTV’s, for the first time.
