Antigo Area Community Food Pantry July 31st11am-1pm (Wednesdays) & August 2nd 1pm-3pm (Fridays), 2120 Progress Blvd., Antigo (715) 623-1103. Our monthly donation focus for month of July will be Beverages: fruit and vegetable juices (low salt and sugar) and tea. For August, our focus will be peanut butter. The following is a testimonial from an individual helped by the Antigo Community Food Pantry this year: “My husband lost his job due to his disability. It is hard to buy food when there are other bills to pay. The food pantry helps a lot.”

Pickerel-Pearson Business Association Golf Outing July 29th Quig’s Maplewood Golf Course, N9240 Hwy. 55, Pickerel. Vacation Bible School July 29th-August 2nd 10am-Noon Liberty Baptist Church, 311 2nd Ave., Antigo. Kids entering k5 through the 7th grade are invited to participate. VBS includes Bible teaching, songs, games, prizes, recreation, and refreshments. All participating families are welcome to join us for lunch after the program concludes on Friday. Monday Night Women’s Road Bike Ride July 29th 5:30pm Langlade Hospital, 112 E. 5th Ave., Antigo. The Women’s ride meets every Monday evening at 5:30pm at the Langlade Hospital parking lot off Hwy F. Everyone is welcome. Once a month they will meet somewhere different in the county. The alternative rides start at 5:45. Please email Mary Jo Filbrandt for directions and the routes for these alternative rides. There will be up to three groups with a 10-12 mile route and a 20-25 mile route. A bike helmet is required. Monday Night Run/Walk with Jack Lake Silent Sports Association July 29th 5:30-8:30pm Jack Lake Mountain Bike Trail, N8375 Park Road, Deerbrook. Start your week out on the trail! Join the Jack Lake Silent Sports Association on Mondays at 5:30 pm for a run/walk on the single track trails. They will meet at the trailhead located to the right when entering Veterans Memorial Park. You can then run, hike, or skip your own distance and pace and meet back when you are finished. Strong Bones with Kathy July 30th 9-10am Langlade County Senior Center, 1225 Langlade Rd., Antigo. Strong Bones is an ongoing strength training program designed to help adults become or stay fit, strong & healthy. Individuals will improve muscle strength, bone density, self-confidence, sleep and vitality. Also, participants have shown a decreased risk of diabetes, heart disease, arthritis, depression & obesity. Classes are offered for an hour, twice a week. Tuesday Morning “Geezer” Bike Rides July 30th 9am Peaceful Valley Warming House, 420 Field St., Antigo. Tuesday Morning “Geezer” Bike Rides are every Tuesday morning. Preschool Story Time July 31st 10:30-11:30am Antigo Public Library, 617 Clermont St., Antigo. Join us for story time at the Antigo Public Library! This is a great way for kids who haven’t started school yet to meet & socialize with peers. Every week we’ll read 2 or 3 books together as well as doing some songs & movement. We also do a simple craft or coloring page that helps kids develop creativity & motor skills, & occasionally (attendance permitting) other activities such as parachute play. This event is geared towards preschoolers, but older or younger kids are welcome to attend as well.

Antigo Farmer’s Market August 3rd 8am-Noon Heinzen Pavilion, 603 6th Avenue, Antigo. All produce is locally grown by the vendor who sells them. Shopping at the Antigo Farmer’s Market is a great way to get local, in season food, and make connections with the people that grew it.
7th Annual Deerbrook Rumble Motorcycle Ride August 3rd 9:30am-11pm Held’s Bar, W13298 Cty. Rd. C, Gleason. The ride will start at 11 am from Held’s Bar and ends at the MC Festival Grounds. This is a fundraiser for Never Forgotten Honor Flight. Held’s will open at 9:30am for registration. It is $25 per bike, $5 per passenger. RSVP welcome, but not required. Riders can leave any time, but the ride is scheduled to leave at 11am. You will receive route maps and a list of sponsor stops upon arrival. After a fun-filled day of cruising, return to the MC Festival Grounds at 6:30pm. Enjoy live music by Older Budwiser Band and great sponsor door prizes from 8pm-midnight. 5th Annual Paddleboat Pandemonium August 3rd 11am Sammy’s Bar & Grill, N9067 Waterpower Rd., Deerbrook. Registration from 11am-12:30pm. Paddle boats will be provided, no need to bring your own. New costume contest this year. Movie or TV show with an ocean/lake/river theme. No paddleboat decorating this year. Costume contest at 1pm, followed by races. There will also be raffles, food, fun, and live music from 4-8pm with Still Reckless. Proceeds to benefit the Elcho School Scholarship Fund.
