Doris Iverson passed away Sunday, August 11, in Satellite Beach at home under the care of Hospice. She leaves behind a family that adored her but they find comfort in knowing that she is joining her spouse of more the 50 years Don Iverson, her sons Larry and Dennis, and her son-in-law Dwain.
Doris was born in Antigo Aug. 21, 1926. She graduated from Antigo High School with the class of 1944 and was a member of St John’s Catholic Church until her move to Florida in 2015.
Doris worked for the Veterans Administration for over 30 years.
She is survived by her daughter Lynn Gornto of Satellite Beach, Florida who she has resided with for the past 4 years, her 5 grandchildren Don Gornto, Wendi Saba, Dean Gornto, Bret and Alex Iverson and her daughter in law Prudnece Iverson. Her 9 great grandchildren thought their “GG” was the best and she often commented she was so glad she lived long enough to be able to enjoy all of them. She was the favorite aunt to many nieces and nephews who will also feel the huge loss.
Mom wanted to experience as much life as she could and she experienced more than most. Mom and Dad loved to travel and explored most of the U.S. in their RV. She loved her weekly bridge games with dear lifelong friends, knitting, all animals and especially her cats. She was always enthusiastic, vibrant, loving and fun. She truly lived life to the fullest.
A memorial mass will be held on Friday, August 23, 2019 at 11:00 AM at St. John Catholic Church. Visitation will take place on August 23, 2019 from 10:00-11:00 at Hoffmann Hall.
When you think of me, please know my arms are around you giving you warmth and strength!
