Melinda Rae Otto, of Crandon, died Saturday, August 10, 2019, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. She was 61 years old. She was born on November 14, 1957, in Crandon, a daughter of Jacqueline (Skidmore) Kincaid and the late Douglas E. Kincaid, Sr. She married Earl J. Otto, Jr. on August 25, 1979, at the Methodist Church in Crandon.

She was a graduate of Crandon High School in 1975. Melinda served as the Executive Director for the Forest County Chamber of Commerce for over 30 years. She also served on the Crandon City Council and Forest County Board.

In addition to her husband and mother, survivors include a daughter, Kristi Otto, Wisconsin; a son, Jesse (Sam) Otto, Minnesota; sisters, Holly and Tracy; brothers, Steve (Michelle) and Jeff (Colleen); and a sister-in-law, Christine Kincaid. Melinda is further survived by many nieces and nephews in the Otto and Kincaid families.

She was preceded in death by her father and a brother, Doug Kincaid.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, August 16th at the Crandon Community Building from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. with a Service of Remembrance at 5 p.m.

“Cancer does not care who it takes…in the end is when the most amazing thing happens, cancer loses its strength and grace appears. We accept it. We go with it. Grace and love win, not cancer.”
