Jeanne Carol Fermanich, 81

Jeanne C. Fermanich, 81, of Mattoon, died on Thursday, September 5, 2019 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
She was born on December 6, 1937 in Neenah, the daughter of the late Harvey and Helen (Waushesock) Kielman. In December of 1957, Jeanne was united in marriage to Wesley Fermanich in Mattoon. The couple later divorced.
Jeanne worked at Mattoon Elementary for 37 years until her retirement. She was a member of St Joseph Holy Family Catholic Church in Phlox where she was also a member of the St. Monica’s Society. She was an avid reader and shared books with friends and donated to local libraries. Jeanne also enjoyed baking cookies with her grandkids, crocheting, knitting and embroidery but especially loved spending time with her family.
Jeanne is survived by her children, Debra Fermanich, Patricia Bartz, Christine (Bob) Nimz, Richard (Sandy) Fermanich and Randy (Stacy) Fermanich; grandchildren, Kara (Dan) Trelka, Molly Fermanich, Natasha, Xavier and Callista Fermanich; brother, Richard (Norma) Kielman and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents and a brother at birth, James Allen.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at St. Joseph Holy Family Catholic Church, Phlox. Fr. Edmundo Siguenza, Fr. Charles Hoffmann and Deacon Tom Hartman will concelebrate. Burial will be in Holy Family Catholic Cemetery, Mattoon. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 9:00am until the time of mass at the church.
