Richard “Spike” Anthony Leseberg died Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at the age of 42.

He was born March 14, 1977 in Milwaukee. He was the son of Victoria (Daniel) Leseberg-Summers and the late Michael D. Leseberg.

Richard graduated from Dubois High School in Wyoming, where he was an active student and athlete. He participated in drama and track, and was an excellent football player who was invited to participate in the Shrine Bowl game.

He married Jessica Schoepke in 2007, and they later divorced.

Richard was employed at Hyland Lakes Spuds, and he also did Christmas tree work.

He enjoyed summers at Bass Lake, driving the pontoon boat and golfing. He also loved sports, particularly the Packers and Badgers, and spending time outdoors, especially hunting. He was a charismatic, helpful man who truly loved his daughter.

Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his beloved daughter, Cassidy Jo Leseberg; 2 sisters, Kayla (Eric) Gillett of Antigo, and Jessica (Colin) Smith of Woodbury, MN; a grandmother, Patsy Leseberg of Dubois, WY; 2 aunts, Pam (Mike) Peterson of Westfield, and Karen Spychalla of Antigo; 3 uncles, Kenneth (Marcy) Leseberg, Larry Leseberg, and Joe (Katie) Leseberg, all of Dubois, WY; niece and nephew, Isabella and Oren Gillett; special friends Leslie and Duane Kramer of Deerbrook; and many cousins and additional family across the country.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by grandparents, Tony and Phyllis Spychalla; grandfather, Billy Leseberg; and uncle, Anthony Spychalla.

A memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 5 at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home, with Fr. Charles Hoffmann officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday and 10:00-11:00 Thursday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
