Antigo’s JV Football Suffers First Loss of the Season

Antigo’s JV football team recently lost their first game of the year to fall to 4-1. Rhinelander beat Antigo 24-22 in OT. The first quarter had Rhinelander score first with a TD and 2pt conversion. Antigo tied the game on a 1 yard rushing TD from Zach Zupon and a successful 2 pt conversion. Rhinelander scored again in the 2nd period to make the score 16-8 at halftime. Antigo’s defense shut out Rhinelander in the second half. Offensively, Antigo’s Casey Smith scored on a 3 yard run to tie the game up at 16-16 to end regulation time of the game. In OT, Rhinelander had the ball first at Antigo 25 yard line. They scored a rushing TD and 2pt. Antigo’s turn at the Rhinelander 25 ended in a TD pass from Zupon to Smith. Unfortunately, the 2 pt conversion failed.
