Antigo Police & Langlade County Sheriff Reports for 10/28/19
ANTIGO POLICE REPORTS
Thursday, October 17th
Officers stopped a vehicle at Edison Street and 7th Avenue. The driver was arrested on a warrant from Wisconsin Rapids. Another subject was arrested on a probation warrant.
Officers responded to a report of an accident in the student parking lot at Antigo High School. Property damage only.
Officers responded to a call reporting a female subject wearing red at Superior Street and 5th Avenue that seemed like she “was on something.” The caller told officers that she was twitchy and seemed lost. Officers were unable to locate the subject.
Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 2nd Avenue. A field sobriety test was conducted. The driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 5th offense and was cited for operating with a prohibited alcohol content, 2nd offense. They were also referred for operating after revocation due to alcohol concentration and having no ignition interlock device.
Friday, October 18th
Officers responded to a report of an accident at Sunset Drive and 5th Avenue. A subject in a 2010 green GMC Acadia had struck a pole. The Antigo Fire Department was requested for a subject in the vehicle. The vehicle was towed and WPS was notified about the pole.
Saturday, October 19th
Officers responded to a call from an area business on S. Superior Street reporting a gas drive-off of $44.52. The caller told officers that the vehicle left going south on Hwy. 45. Officers were given the license plate number. Officers stopped the vehicle at Hwy. 45 and Huggins Road. The female driver told officers that she would be contacting the business about the money.
Sunday, October 20th
Officers responded to a report of a two vehicle accident at Clermont Street and Mendlik Avenue. A female subject in one of the vehicles had a cut on her left hand. Both vehicles were towed.

Wednesday, October 16th
Officers responded to a report of disorderly conduct at White Lake High School.
Officers responded to a report of a car in the ditch at Hwy. 45 and Parkway Lane. The male driver told officers that he missed his turn onto Parkway Lane. His grandson was able to pull the vehicle out of the ditch.
Thursday, October 17th
A female came to the Safety Building to report that in August or September while she was in jail, she had a W-2 check sent to an address on Kriewaldt Road and she believed that a named subject signed and cashed it.
Friday, October 18th
Officers received a call from a male reporting that a named female took his cellphone out of his truck while it was parked in her driveway on Sunset Road and she would not give it back to him. The caller told officers that she went back into her residence and he had called his phone and it rang inside the house, but she would not admit to taking it. He requested officer’s assistance in getting the phone back.
Officer responded to multiple 911 calls reporting a vehicle driving south in the northbound lane. The first two calls were in the vicinity of Hwy. 45 and Cty. Rd. A. The third caller stated that the driver was now at an area business on Hwy. 45 in Antigo.
Saturday, October 19th
Officers stopped a vehicle at Hwy. 55 and Sylvan Acres Road. A subject was taken into custody on a Langlade County Sheriff’s Office warrant for failure to pay for a fine for retail theft. The driver was cited for having no proof of insurance and was given a verbal warning for speed.
Officers responded to a report of a two vehicle, three deer accident at Hwy. 45 and Cty. Rd. A. One driver was ok; the other driver was having pain and couldn’t get out the vehicle. The vehicle was smoking. The Antigo Fire Department and Rural Fire Control cleared the scene. One vehicle was towed.
Officers responded to a 911 call from a male reporting a two vehicle accident at Huggins Road and Cty. Rd. D. The caller told officers that he did not see the other vehicle after he had stopped at the stop sign and pulled out striking the other vehicle. He told officers that there were no injuries. The driver of the striking vehicle was cited for not wearing a seat belt and for failure to yield the right of way at a stop sign. Both vehicles were towed.
Officers were out with a male subject walking on Hwy. 45, just south of Cty. Rd. A. The subject was taken into custody.
Sunday, October 20th
Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that a black truck going south on Hwy. 55 had crossed the center line and ran her into the ditch. She told officers that she thought it had a bunch of lights on the top. The caller told officers that she was able to pull back onto the road and kept going. Officers checked the area, but were unable to locate any vehicle matching that description.
Monday, October 21st
Officers responded to a call from an area business on Hwy. 45 in Elcho reporting a gas drive off in the amount of $55.09. The vehicle was described as a Chevy Silverado and the caller gave officers the license plate number of the vehicle. Officers made contact with the wife of the registered owner who said that she would contact her husband and the business about the situation.
Tuesday, October 22nd
Officers responded to a report of a vehicle in the ditch on Cty. Rd. G, near Lonely Road. The female driver was warned for driving too fast for conditions. The vehicle was removed from the ditch.
Officers assisted with a fire call at a residence on Cty. Rd. M. A fire had ignited behind the stove at the residence. A female in the home was unable to put the fire out because the fire extinguisher was empty. Smoke was visible from kitchen, but no flames. The Wolf River and White Lake Fire Departments were on the scene. They got everything under control.
