Antigo Police & Langlade County Sheriff Reports for 10/7/19

ANTIGO POLICE REPORTS
Thursday, September 26th
Officers received a call from a male on 2nd Avenue reporting a theft of cash that occurred 3 to 4 months earlier. The caller told officers that the cash was in his Elvis guitar bank that is 2 feet tall and brown. He believed that thousands of dollars had been stolen.
Officers responded to a report of a blonde male subject wearing a tie die shirt that was smashing pumpkins and harassing customers at an area business on Neva Road. The subject then left heading northbound on Hwy. 45. Officers stopped the vehicle at Cty. Rd. A and Cty. Rd. B. The male subject was taken into custody.
Officers were involved in an accident at 10th Avenue and Superior Street. A male subject was at the intersection of 10th Avenue and turning northbound onto Superior Street. An officer was in a squad car behind the vehicle. The male driver told officers that he thought he could make it, but then realized that he couldn’t and he was in the southbound lane of traffic on Superior Street. He then backed up without looking and hit the front of the squad car, resulting in damage to the front bumper.
Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that he had a set of ramps ratcheted down on a trailer, while parked at an area business on Jerome Street. The caller told officers that when he came out of the business, the ramps were missing. The male told officers that the business had already looked at their surveillance footage, but his truck was not on the camera. The ramps were valued at around $600.
Officers responded to a report of a theft in progress at an area business on Hwy. 64. The subject was cited for retail theft.
Friday, September 27th
Officers stopped a vehicle on Neva Road. A subject was taken into custody.
Officers responded to a call from a female on Lincoln Street reporting that she had just received a package from a company in Oakland Gardens, New York which she did not order. When she opened the package, it exploded penis confetti all over. Then she went to the company website and got the message that was waiting for her, the message read, “Taste the rainbow, Love boy toy.” The female told officers that she had just moved to Antigo and had no idea who would have sent the package. She told officers that now she was very upset, thinking that it could have been a pipe bomb.
Officers responded to a report of a two vehicle accident in the parking lot of an area business on Neva Road. The female driver of one vehicle told officers that she was pulling out of the parking lot when she was rear ended by a small pickup. The female told officers that she believed that the male subject driving the truck then left going west on Ackley Street.
Saturday, September 28th
Officers responded to a report of a two vehicle accident behind an area business on 5th Avenue. A pickup truck had backed into a SUV.
Monday, September 30th
A female came to the Safety Building to report the theft of her medications from the mail area at her apartment complex on Prosser Place.
Officers responded to a call reporting that a male subject was lying in the middle of the street at Deleglise Street and 2nd Avenue. The caller told officers that the male then got up and said that he didn’t need anything. He was described as shorter, wearing a white shirt and having a beard. Officers talked to the male subject who stated that he had a couple of drinks, but he was fine.
Tuesday, October 1st
Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that a student had rear-ended her vehicle on 10th Avenue on the way to the high school. The female driver of the striking vehicle told the female caller that she would meet her at the school. The caller gave officers the license plate number of the striking vehicle.
Officers received a call from a female reporting that a diamond ring, her prescriptions and a bag of clothes had been stolen from her. She had been staying at an establishment on Memory Lane, but spent several days in the hospital.
Officers responded to a report of disorderly conduct at Antigo Middle School. A student was out of control.
A male subject came to the Safety Building to request that law enforcement meet him at his residence on 5th Avenue to arrest his daughter on her Department of Corrections warrant. The female subject was taken into custody.
Wednesday, October 2nd
Officers executed a warrant attempt at an address on 5th Avenue. The subject was taken into custody.

Wednesday, September 25th
Officers received a call from a female reporting that her daughter’s place on S. Superior Street was “trashed and gone through” and some medication was stolen.
Officers stopped a vehicle on Hwy. 55. The driver was given a field sobriety test. They were not intoxicated, but the subject was arrested on a Forest County Sheriff’s Office warrant.
Friday, September 27th
Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that he was driving south on Ackley Road when a white pickup hit the front of his vehicle. The white truck then left. Officers checked the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.
Saturday, September 28th
Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that a male subject had trespassed on some land that he leases off of N. Rollwood Road. He witnessed the male subject on the land. The male subject was described as being in his mid-30’s. The caller told officers that the male subject begged him not to call the cops. The male subject then left on a side by side, spraying mud on him and his child as he left. The caller told officers that the male subject had torn up the hayfield and made tracks. Large no trespassing signs had been posted on the property.
Officers stopped a vehicle for speeding at Hwy. 55 and Hwy. 52. A field sobriety test was completed and the driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 1st offense, with a passenger under 16 years of age.
Monday, September 30th
Officers received a call from an area business on Hwy. 45 reporting a gas drive off that occurred on 9/27/19 at 6:22 PM that had not been reported. Their video showed that a white 2015 Chevy Equinox left without paying for $45.40 in gas. They gave officers the license plate number of the vehicle.
Officers were out with a semi in the ditch on Hwy. 55. The driver of the semi already had a wrecker en route.
Tuesday, October 1st
Officers responded to a call from a male on Burkhart Lane reporting a theft. He told officers that approximately two weeks ago his Snap-On battery impact wrench was stolen from his residence and he believed that an employee of an area business had been there at the time, repairing a piece of machinery. The male now noticed the wrench for sale on the Langlade County Buy-Sell-Trade site with the suspect’s name. The business had been notified and the employee had been fired later that day. Officers went to the suspect’s residence and recovered the wrench. The subject was referred for theft.
Officers responded to a report of a car on fire on Clermont Street.
