Antigo Police & Langlade County Sheriff Reports for 11/25/19

ANTIGO POLICE REPORTS
Wednesday, November 13th
Officers responded to a report of robbery in progress at an area business on Hwy. 64.
Officers responded to a call from a female on Dorr Street reporting that her driveway was covered by nails.
Officers responded to a report of a two vehicle accident at 7th Avenue and Superior Street.
Officers responded to a report of disorderly conduct at Antigo High School.
Thursday, November 14th
Officers responded to a call from an area business reporting that they had retrieved a small glass jar with an unknown white powder inside. It smelled strongly of ammonia/chemicals. Officers conducted several tests, but the substance did not test positive for any sort of drug.
Officers responded to a call from an area business on 6th Avenue reporting that they had a check that was dated 11/08/19 and a subject had attempted to cash it that day, 11/14/19. The employee at the business thought that the check did not look right and had it checked with a supervisor. They found it to be a fake check. The business kept the check and did not cash it.
A subject came to the jail visiting area and officers confirmed that the subject had two outstanding Langlade County Sheriff’s Office warrants. The subject was taken into custody.
Friday, November 15th
Officers responded to a call from a male subject on 5th Avenue reporting a noise complaint about a female subject. The caller told officers that the female was threatening to vandalize his car, was pounding and kicking the walls and screaming continuously. Upon running the caller’s information, officers discovered that he had a Department of Corrections warrant for a probation violation. The male subject was taken into custody.
Officers responded to a 911 call from a female reporting that she could hear footsteps in her attic. She told officers that some other officers had been to her residence the day before for the same reason and found nothing, but she could hear the footsteps again. Officers checked the attic and no one was found, but the female told officers that there were boxes in the attic that were not there before.
Officers responded to a call from a female on 4th Avenue reporting that a vehicle went through her yard and hit a tree leaving small parts of the vehicle and tracks in her yard. Officers determined from the treads and parts left behind that the vehicle was probably a gray Chevy truck. It appeared to have slid off Pine Street, going too fast for conditions. There was minimal damage to the tree and the yard. Officers would attempt to locate the vehicle.
Officers responded to a report of a hit and run accident at an area business on Neva Road.
Officers responded to a call from a female on Clermont Street reporting that she just caught two male subjects going through her vehicle. After she yelled at them, they took off on foot heading towards the Safety Building. One subject was described as wearing a gray hoodie and the other subject was wearing dark clothing. Officers were unable to locate the subjects. Nothing was taken from the vehicle.
Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that his vehicle was struck while it was parked at an area business on Hwy. 64.
Officers stopped a vehicle at Clermont Street and Willard Avenue. They received consent to search the vehicle. The driver was cited for operating while suspended, possession of drug paraphernalia and several correction notices.
Saturday, November 16th
Officers responded to a 911 call reporting vandalism in the bathroom of an area business on 5th Avenue.
Officers stopped a vehicle on Superior Street. A field sobriety test was conducted. The driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated, possession of methamphetamine and resisting arrest. They were also given written warnings for operating with a defective headlight and having no insurance.
Officers stopped a vehicle on S. Superior Street. A field sobriety test was conducted. The driver was taken into custody. The vehicle was towed.
Officers responded to a report of a fight in progress at an area business on Edison Street. The caller told officers that the fight involved a group of subjects and no weapons were visible. Officers arrested a subject on an outstanding Langlade County Sheriff’s Office warrant for failure to pay a fine for possession of drug paraphernalia.
Tuesday, November 19th
Officers responded to a report of a vehicle that hit a fire hydrant on Flight Road. When officers arrived, the vehicle was not there. Officers found out that the male driver had taken off southbound on Langlade Road. The vehicle should have front end damage. Officers checked the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle. They notified the Street Department to check the hydrant.
Officers received a call from a male on Milton Street reporting that his truck had been stolen. The male told officers that it had been there at 12:00 PM, but it was gone at 1:14 PM and he had not heard anything. He also told officers that a rifle had also been in the truck when it was stolen.
Officers responded to a report of a two vehicle accident in the parking lot of an area business on Neva Road. Property damage only.
LANGLADE COUNTY SHERIFF DEPARTMENT
Wednesday, November 13th
Officers responded to a report of a dark colored SUV in the ditch at Western Avenue and Cty. Rd. X. The male driver told officers that he had lost control and went into the ditch. Officers could see fish tale marks for about 100 yards. The driver was told to slow down by officers and to get better tires on his vehicle.
Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that she ran into the ditch on Cty. Rd. AA by the hill and had damage to her vehicle and to the fence line on the east side of the road.
Thursday, November 14th
Officers responded to a report of a fire at an area business on Hwy. 47. The building was fully engulfed and some vehicles outside were also on fire. Multiple fire departments responded. City Gas was notified for gas shut off at the road and the power company was notified to disconnect the power.
Officers were out with a vehicle in the ditch at Cty. Rd. M and Hwy. 55. The vehicle was towed out. There was no visible sign of damage. The female driver was cited for unreasonable and imprudent speed.
Friday, November 15th
Officers responded to a report of an accident at Cty. Rd. T and Green Valley Road. The driver went too fast around a curve and ran into the ditch. The Highway Department was notified about the curves being slippery.
Saturday, November 16th
Officers stopped a vehicle at Cty. Rd. B and Cty. Rd. A. Officers received consent to search the vehicle. A driver was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and two counts of misdemeanor bail jumping. They were also given written warnings for speeding and no proof of insurance.
Sunday, November 17th
Officers were out with a vehicle at Hwy. 45 and Summit Lake Road. A subject was taken into custody on three Langlade County Sheriff’s Office warrants.
Tuesday, November 19th
Officers responded a call from a subject on Cty. Rd. T reporting that a vehicle had driven off of the road and hit a tree in their yard. It occurred either last night or the night before. The caller had been gone. The tree that was knocked over was fairly large in size so the vehicle that hit it would have some damage. Officers took some photos.
Officers responded to a call from the Langlade County Highway Department reporting that a subject from Elcho had called to advise them that a black & tan Ford F150 truck had ran over a sign at Cty. Rd. K and Hunting River Road. Officers were given the license plate number of the vehicle. The Highway Department told officers that they had photos of the damage to the sign.
Officers received a call from a male on Schultz Road reporting the theft of two brand new coats and some change from a change jar. The caller told officers that the theft occurred that day or the day before. The male told officers that he had suspicions about who did it, but he did not want to tell officers.
