John Charles Kelly, 96

John Charles Kelly passed away at Rosalia Gardens, on Wednesday October 30, 2019, at the age of 96 years old.

John was born and raised in Antigo. As a member of St John’s Catholic Church, he attended the parish grade school. After graduating from Antigo High School he served in the USArmy during WW II.

Upon returning home from the war, he worked for the National Biscuit Co. servicing the Northern Wisconsin area. John met his wife Barbara while working for Nabisco in Chicago. They were married in 1952 and returned, making Antigo their home. In 1960 John and Barbara, plus their two daughters moved to Chatsworth, Illinois where they owned and operated a department store , J.C. Kelly Co. After retiring, John and Barbara returned to the Antigo area making Bass Lake and Fort Meyers, Fl their residences.

He is survived by his two daughters, Barbara Boma (Tom), and Kathryn Buck (Chris), six grandchildren, Barton Boma (Christie), Kelly Richardson (Robert), Adam Buck (Shelley), Alexander Buck (Lexie), Nicole Kircher (Michael), and Dakota Buck (Paige), and 12 Great Grandchildren, Brandon, Allison, Scott, Taylor, Landon, Colette, Connor, Evelyn, Maddison, Eillis, Ackley and Johnny.

John was preceded in death by his wife Barbara; Mother Evelyn Harris; and two sisters Mary Rose Kelly Dohrmann and Elayne Kelly Ahern.

John lived a very full life filled with hunting, fishing, golfing, wonderful friends and a beautiful family. His life was truly blessed!

A memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday November 2, 2019, at 12 noon at St. John Catholic Church with Rev. Charles Hoffmann officiating.

Visitation will be at the church from 11:30 a.m. until the time of Mass.
