Antigo Police & Langlade County Sheriff Reports for 12/9/19

ANTIGO POLICE REPORTS
Tuesday, November 26th
Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 10th Avenue. A field sobriety test was conducted. The driver was arrested for bail jumping and was cited for speed.
Wednesday, November 27th
Officers were out with a subject at 5th Avenue and Edison Street. The subject was arrested for obstructing an officer and was cited for possession of marijuana.
Officers responded to a report that a power pole went down on the roadway on Clermont Street. Officers observed that the pole had fallen to the north, falling on power lines and bringing the main power cable to the ground. The Street Department and WPS were notified.
Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that he struck a pole at an area business on Neva Road.
Officers responded to a report of a male subject snow-blowing near an area business at S. Superior Street and Forrest Road that was dressed in black and was flipping people off as they drove by. Officers were unable to locate the subject.
Officers responded to a report of an accident at an area business on Neva Road.
Thursday, November 28th
Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that her phone had been stolen while she was at an area business on Edison Street. She told officers that she had used an app to locate her phone and it brought her to an address on Clermont Street. Officers were able to recover the phone.
Saturday, November 30th
Officers executed a warrant attempt at an address on Superior Street. A subject was arrested on a Department of Corrections warrant for a felony parole violation.
Sunday, December 1st
Officers responded to a report that a power box was struck on a building on Superior Street. There was still power to the building. Officers contacted WPS.
Officers stopped a vehicle at Morse Street and 7th Avenue. A field sobriety test was conducted. The driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 1st offense, was cited for underage drinking, 2nd offense and was given a verbal warning for failure to control a vehicle.
Tuesday, December 3rd
Officers responded to a call from a subject on Prosser Place reporting they could smell smoke and marijuana in the building where they were located. Officers talked to some subjects who denied it was them. They told officers that they had some guests there, but they had just left. Officers were unable to smell any marijuana due to other pungent odors of trash.
LANGLADE COUNTY SHERIFF DEPARTMENT
Wednesday, November 27th
Officers responded to a report of two vehicles in the ditch at Hwy. 45 and Cty. Rd. G.
Thursday, November 28th
Officers responded to a report of a tree blocking the road on Hwy. 55. The tree was completely blocking the road and it had partially severed the line leading to a residence. The town chairman and WPS were notified.
Officers responded to a call from a subject on Post Lake Drive reporting that a male subject with a beard, brown hair and a skinny build came to their door and said, “Take me to the hospital, I’m gonna die.” Elcho EMS was on the scene. They were going to go back to the subject’s address on Post Lake Road to check for possible fumes in the home. The subject was transported to Antigo and was given a hotel room for the night via the Salvation Army.
Officers were out with a tree blocking part of the road on Hwy. 55, just north of Hwy.52. Officers cleaned up what they could and the Highway Department was notified.
Friday, November 29th
Officers assisted with a fire call at an address on Cty. Rd. F. The Town of Antigo Fire Department responded. It was an oven fire, contained in the oven. Everyone was out of the house.
Officers responded to a report of a two vehicle accident at Cty. Rd. A and Old A Road. The vehicles were in the ditch, but off the road way. Everyone was out of their vehicles. First aid was given to a victim that was bleeding.
Saturday, November 30th
Officers responded to a report of a vehicle in the ditch at Hwy. 52 and Hwy. 55. There were no injuries.
Officers responded to a two vehicle accident at Hwy. 45 and Kautza Drive. One vehicle was traveling south on Hwy. 45 when it lost control on the snow-covered and slippery roads and veered into the northbound lane striking another vehicle. Multiple law enforcement agencies and fire departments responded. Hwy. 45 was shut down for a time. One four year old child was pronounced dead at the scene and six other subjects were transported to the hospital with injuries.
Officers responded to a call from a female on Cty. Rd. S reporting that she and another vehicle were stuck on a hill. Officers told the female to try and back down the hill, while keeping her seatbelt on and her flashers on. Officers notified the Highway Department.
Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that he slid down the hill on Enterprise Lake Road and went into a yard, striking two vehicles in the yard.
Sunday, December 1st
Officers were out with a vehicle at Crestwood Road and Cty. Rd. AA. Officers received consent to search the vehicle. A subject was arrested on a Department of Corrections warrant.
Officers assisted with a fire call at a residence on Washington Street in Bryant. The homeowner reported smoke coming out of the vents in the attic. The caller was unsure of the size of the fire.
Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that she slid off the road at Cty. Rd. G and Old 26 Road. Both the driver and passenger were ok. The registered owner was cited for vehicle registration.
Monday, December 2nd
Officers responded to a report of a vehicle in the ditch on Pickerel Lake Road, about one mile from Hwy. 55. When officers arrived, the vehicle was running and unoccupied. It appeared to have a tow chain on the front. There was also an uncased rifle and shotgun in the back. The vehicle was removed. The registered owner was cited for transporting a loaded long gun in a vehicle.
