FROM THE SHAWANO-MENOMINEE COUNTIES HEALTH DEPARTMENT

Menominee, Shawano — Shawano-Menominee Counties Health Department received word yesterday that there are less than 5 cases associated with a business in Shawano County. All positive cases associated with the business are residents of a different county. All individuals were connected to positive cases in other counties. Therefore, these individuals were already in quarantine before testing took place and will continue to stay in quarantine or isolation until released.

Shawano-Menominee Counties Health Department has been working with the business. The business has been taking adequate and appropriate steps to protect their employees. We applaud the business for taking precautions such as: following quarantine recommendations, sanitizing common areas, screening employees, practicing physical distancing, allowing use of protective masks, and advocating for frequent handwashing and all other necessary steps to avoid spread of the virus.

Because of the contained nature of the cases and to respect the business and employees, the health department will not release the name of the business at this time. The business will disclose their name if the situation escalates. The
health department and the business will continue to monitor the situation and implement isolation and quarantine as needed. If more cases are identified, the health department and business will take measures necessary to minimize the risk to other employees and members of our community.
