Press Release from the Langlade County Health Department Regarding Garage Sales & Any Other Out-Of-Home Sales

Garage sales, rummage sales, or any other out-of-home sales are not essential services.

FROM THE LANGLADE COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT

Spring cleaning and how we get rid of our unwanted items may look a bit different this year. Per the Governor’s Safer At Home Order, garage sales, rummage sales, or any other out of home sales are not essential and not allowable at this time. As many people visit many sales on the same day, travel is another concern and increases the potential for the spread of COVID-19. Sales that occur via an online platform and mailed or curb-side pickup would be allowable.

Safer at Home is working; initial projections show that without Safer at Home, there would be significantly more cases of COVID-19 and deaths associated with the disease. Keep yourself and your family safe by staying home except for essential travel, wash your hands or use hand sanitizer when soap and water are not available, sanitize surfaces frequently, and stay home if you are sick. We are in this together. We can’t contain the spread of COVID-19 without the help of everyone.

This is a rapidly evolving situation. For the latest information about COVID-19 in Langlade County visit: bit.ly/LangladeHealth or follow us on Facebook.
