FROM THE LANGLADE COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT

With the warmer weather coming, the opening of fishing season, and the value of outdoor recreation for physical and mental health, the Langlade County Health Department wants to encourage everyone to follow the Safer at Home order and recreate locally.

“We are fortunate to live in Langlade County where there are great recreation opportunities,” says Meghan Williams, Health Officer, Langlade County Health Department. “We encourage everyone to take advantage of our local recreation opportunities, as this time is difficult for everyone and recreation is good for both your physical and mental health,” Williams continued.

By following these tips, you can help keep yourself, family, friends and community safe and healthy:

• Visit parks, local trails and outdoor areas that are close to your home.
• Check hours of operation for parks, trails and areas before you go.
• Stay at least 6 feet away from others while walking, hiking, biking or fishing.
• Take disinfectant wipes and hand sanitizer with you to use when needed.
• Stay home if you are sick
• Cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze.
• Avoid contact sports as they are not allowed under Safer at Home.
• Avoid playgrounds as they are closed under Safer at Home.
• Do not shake hands, give hugs or touch your face.

We know this is not easy and want to thank the community for continued support. We are all in this together. This is a rapidly evolving situation.
