Eleanora Martha Burkhart, 92

Eleanora Martha Burkhart (nee Luehring) age of 92, went to her heavenly home, on Saturday May 2, surrounded by family.
Eleanora is survived by her son William (Amy) Burkhart, Bryant; daughters: Sharon (James) Keller, Deerbrook; Elizabeth (Daniel) Allen, Little Suamico; Joan (Larry) Moeller, Chippewa Falls; Liesa (Gregory) Bricco; Anita Burkart; Janet (Timothy) Lutzow, all of Bryant. She is blessed with 22 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. Surviving sisters-in-law; Marvel Burkhart of Pickerel; Alice (Warren) Fuller of Lily, Mary (Raymond) Gibbs of Gresham; Millie Rudella (Jim Drews) of Greendale; Helen Burkhart, Joyce Burkhart, and Janice Schroepfer all of Antigo. Brothers-in-law; Floyd Burkhart, Bryant; Lee(Charlotte) Burkhart, Three Lakes.
She was preceded in death by her husband Donald; son John; two great grandchildren Ford Donald Lutzow and Kaylea Dorman; sisters Ingeborg Ramirez and Ursula Haas. Additional family: Lawrence and Leona Parsons, Ralph and Carol Burkart, Orlyn and Ruth Carlson, Paul Burkhart, Otto Burkhart, Milton “Wayne” Burkhart, Edwin Burkhart and Doris Burkhart.
Eleanora was born in Chicago, IL on November 8, 1927 to Frederick Johan and Martha Ella (nee Gerisch) Luerhring, where they owned and operated two bakeries on the north side. Her family moved to Bryant in 1948 while she was attending Northwestern University as a music major. Eleanora married Donald John Burkhart on August 8, 1953 at St. Matthews Lutheran Church, Deerbrook. Donald was her lifelong love, together again after almost 33 years of separation. She was an active member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church where she played piano for services and helped with Vacation Bible School. Eleanora filled her life caring for her family and loving her Lord. She had a passion for the opera and classical music which always filled the air around her. She was known for her cooking, faith, love for her family and her kind, genuine character.
Eleanora is loved and painfully missed by her family. Auf wiedersehen, Mama, Oma, Urgroβmama until we see you again in heaven!

Eleanora’s visitation and funeral will be held on Saturday, June 13th at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, Deerbrook. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM and will be followed by the funeral at 11:00 AM, concluding with interment at Bent Cemetery, Bryant.
