George “Bud” E. Steber, 89
George “Bud” E. Steber, 89, of the Town of Rome, passed away with his family by his side on Wednesday, May 6, 2020 at his home.
George was born September 22, 1930, in Antigo, Wisconsin to George John and Clara Magdeline (Fonek) Steber. George Married Betty Klitz on July 2, 1955 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He served in the United States Air Force from 1949 to 1954 based in Korea. George enjoyed walking, hunting, fishing, biking, golfing, traveling, and tending to his garden in his spare time. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren as they were the light of his life.
George is survived by his wife, Betty, three daughters; Joy Steber (David LaRock), Jill(Craig) Nickel, and Karen McCaigue, six grandchildren; Kyle, Corey(Jess), Kurt(Lisa), Calvin, Karla, and Kelsey(Roger), six great-grandchildren; Peyton, Olivia, Clara, Noelle, Finley, and Zoey, brother; John (Dorothy) Steber, sisters; Elizabeth Mugavero, Joan Waldvogel, Helen(Eugene) Mason, and Barbara(Thomas) Boettcher, and many nieces and nephews.
George was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters; Carol (Donald) Zoern, and Janet(Leonard) Pagel.
Services for George will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at a later date.
The Feldner/Ritchay Funeral Home in Nekoosa is assisting the family.
