Helen Kuhr, 93

Helen Kuhr, of Phlox, died Tuesday, May 19, 2020. She was 93 years old. She was born on October 27, 1926, in the town of Norwood, a daughter of Joseph and Coletta (Menting) Heinzen. She married George Kuhr on May 21, 1949, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Phlox. He preceded her in death on January 18, 1984.
She attended St. Joseph parochial school in Phlox and graduated from Mattoon High School.
Mrs. Kuhr was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Holy Family Catholic Church, the St. Anne Society where she was past president, and member of the Catholic Order of Foresters.
She volunteered at Eastview Nursing Home and C.A.R., both in Antigo
Survivors include four daughters, Sheila Kuhr of Weston, Mary (Paul) Pomerleau of Wales, WI, Bonnie Kuhr of Green Bay, Julie (Jim) Kuhr-Hollenbeck of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; four sons, David (Rita) Kuhr of Antigo, Jeff (Emily) Kuhr of Green Bay, Richard (Connie) Kuhr of Nashville, Tennessee, Steve (Shari) Kuhr of Aniwa; twelve grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; a brother, Ben (Ellen) Heinzen of Scottsdale, Arizona.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by two children in infancy; four sisters, Joyce Gauthier, Dolores Krall, Jeanette Sippl, Marie Mendl; three brothers, Gerald, Clinton and Donald Heinzen.
Graveside services will be held at 12 noon on Friday May 22, 2020, at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Phlox.
A family funeral Mass will be held.
