For more than four decades, Bill Page has honed his craft in specialty crops

FOR ANTIGO TIMES

Bloomington, Ill. (AgPR) May 11, 2020 – Bill Page of Insight FS has worked with specialty crop producers across Wisconsin and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula for more than 40 years. It’s this dedication to customer service and agronomy expertise that has earned Page the 2020 Wisconsin Certified Crop Adviser (CCA) of the Year Award.

The Certified Crop Adviser of the Year Award is designed to annually recognize a certified crop adviser who delivers exceptional customer service, is highly innovative, has shown that they are a leader in their field, and has contributed substantially to the exchange of ideas and the transfer of agronomic knowledge within the agriculture industry.

“When I think of what it takes to be the CCA of the Year, characteristics like professional, knowledgeable, passionate, and a person of integrity all come to mind,” says Ben Huber, the agronomy department manager for Insight FS. “Those characteristics all describe Bill Page and how he approaches each day with his customers and coworkers. Bill is an incredibly valuable member of our team, a valuable part of his customer advisory group, and I can’t think of a more deserving recipient of the Wisconsin CCA of the Year award.”

Page has been working out of the Insight FS Antigo location since he began his career in 1977. That’s more than four decades of honing his craft in everything from potatoes, to raspberries and cranberries, and even ginseng and Christmas trees.

“There is a personality difference for most customers I work with, as those who are specialty aren’t a corn or bean person,” says Page. “It’s my job to provide as precise information as any large-scale crop grower would receive, but on a more niche scale.”

It’s those solutions that Page’s customers have valued through the decades, and especially in a turbulent year like this one.

“Some guys are fourth-generation farms,” adds Page. “I started working with their grandfather and now the grandkids are taking over the operation.”

It’s these strong relationships and the variety of each day, that keeps Page still passionate about supporting specialty crop growers across Wisconsin and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
