The Antigo Red Robins Class of 1967 Challenges the Class of 1968 in the Front Line Red Robin Challenge
FOR ANTIGO TIMES
The Lady Robins from the class of 67 enjoy dining with their friend, Gus Ourada, at his restaurant, The Dixie Lunch, on Fifth Avenue in Antigo. With only pick-up available now during the pandemic, they wondered how they could help Gus. They came up with a plan to buy gift cards from The Dixie Lunch and give them to our front line workers, a win win for both the restaurant and the workers receiving the gift cards.
Don Strobel, another ’67 classmate, offered to help. He issued a challenge to the class of 1968 to do the same thing. Shaughn Novy accepted the challenge on behalf of her Ladies ’68 Lunch Group and Barb Boyle offered to be the treasurer. The first gifts from the Class of ’68 were purchased from The Farmers Home Restaurant in Antigo. Owner, Chuck Turney, is a ’68 classmate. Over $1,000 in cards have been bought and distributed to front line workers so far, mostly CNAs and housekeeping workers.
