Two recreation areas in the City of Antigo had new outdoor benches added for public use, supported by funding from the HeART (Healthy Aging in Rural Towns) Project.

“The Park and Recreation Department is extremely grateful to the HeART Project for their support of providing funding for benches at both the Rotary Sled Hill (1011 First Avenue), and the Single Track Trail (N1985 Dump Road). The benches will provide places to stop and rest, or just take a break and enjoy the scenery at these two locations,” said Sarah Repp, Director, Park, Recreation and Cemetery Department.

Building a Healthier Langlade County Healthy Aging in Rural Towns (HeART) is a 2.5 year grant funded effort to strengthen Langlade County’s support networks for older adults and their families; to improve the ability of older adults to maintain independence and live in their communities for as long as possible.
